Jeaux Report: Stalker

as i enjoy this "second coming" of GI JOE i am posting an "opinionated review" of each figure...this is "The Jeaux Report"

Tonight i am going to opine upon the Joe's original Ranger...Stalker.

yet another figure i didnt own as a kid. quite frankly, i didnt own many figs prior to the introduction of swivel-arm battle grip.
but i own stalker now and all i can really say is.....WOW!

i only found ONE stalker fig on the pegs...ONE. and thank the action figure god it was the green version.
regardless of what his secondary value is...i had ZERO desire to own that yellow error.

and id also like to thank the action figure god for one of the most perfect face paint apps ive see yet on any Joe yet. (you listening shipwreck?)

how much praise can i give this figure? oh, lots....i love it.

the shades of green used look fantastic. the webbing fits perfectly and hangs just right over his torso. staight, sturdy rifle.
great detail on his "molded gear". the paint apps on the beret show clean lines and are applied where they should be.
without a doubt one of my top favs to date.

is it all roses though? never is...

its damn close though. if i had to present gripes...and minor gripes they'll be -- here they are...

the stock on the rifle is a tad crooked. however, i will take a crooked stock over a crooked barrel ANY day of this, or any, decade.
are those brown gloves stalker is wearing? seriously, its either leather gloves or the paint on the hands is VERY, and too, thickly applied.
if it is supposed to be gloves, they look great. bare hands...theyre crap.
and lastly, his knife, while in the sheath, sits a tad high and when his torso is turned, the two pouches on the right side of the webbing, tend to be battling
the knife handle for physical space, the pouches tend to win every time, bending the knife outward.

these gripes are strictly ceremonial...as i dont own a perfect action figure...and i dont think i ever will. but these negatives are so, so minor i'm really not even considering them.

so, on the 1-5 Yo Jeaux! scale...

Mr. Wilkinson, Codenamed: Stalker...gets...

5 out of 5 !!

Anyone with any input/opinions on those hands?
they look like gloves to me.

The body is a repaint of Snake Eyes and he had gloves, hence the wrinkled look.

Since they are the exact color as the face, I am going to go hands. Even if it is a repaint of snake eyes...I love it! Feels totally different.

I was a little perturbed by the wrinkled wrist skin but overall I liked Stalker. Articulated, army colors, and felt more like a real person rather than a cartoon.

Anyone else find it silly that they gave him a WWII German machine gun?

Other than that, though, I love this figure.

I agree, the only thing I don't really care for is the nazi-era submachine gun?! IMO he would have looked much better with the one beach head came with, which is great!
and I might be the only one, but I think the yellow version is cool in it's own way, (it's almost the same scheme as the comic 3 pack version)

(I have both, and they are both great) that being said what's wrong Hasbro, surely you can issue them with the right weapons, (he has to know all Nato and small arms right)/Hell why not battlefield asst. packs like the good ol days (give us more Hasbro, give us more) There are days that I feel like a crackhead, because I run like a madman to Wal-Mart to get my Joe fix!
