so to just get this right, the commander that "does not" have the buckles filed in is the more rare? and the one with the buckles filled in is less rare?

i have the one "WITHOUT" the buckles filed in still on the card. and the one with the "DARK HOOD" is loose

these can't really be worth 600$ dollars are they? mabee i am out of the loop on these variant things

I have 2 Carded of this variant. I would not call it the hardest to find but its not common.

All the other crap is production errors and if you were collecting say Star Wars there are tons of them so does Star Wars have tons of Variants....
So I guess your calling me Stupid? Because to me your Opinion is wrong. Variants do not need to be deliberately (Corrected Spelling) produced in-order for them to be excepted as true Variants.

To be honest the Cobra Commander variant we are talking about here was corrected deliberately, so by your definition of what a variant is you should add this to your list.

That's nuts. I ebayed one for around $30 six months ago.

I have them both, it's really not a big deal. I would technically call it a paint-app error, not a variant. That's a reach for all those people that have zero variant's....such as the DOC "variant" gun LOLLLLLL

this has happened with figures for years. idiots jack up prices and other idiots pay. in short periods of time these go away. from the beginning reputable price guides don't even list fake variants like this one.

I'm not sure if I'd call it a "great demand" that causes it to sell for $300, but more along the lines of rampant O.C.D. running throughout the collector community. All you need is a couple nuts that MUST have ANYTHING and EVERYTHING at all costs to get in a bidding war over something and *poof* $300 appears.

If you find it at retail that's cool, but to pay $300 for a painted belt buckle....*Seek therapy.* Didn't one of the SW POTF figs. in 95' have an extra comma or something or another on the bio. card that made it "rare" and all of a sudden "more valuable?"

The fans themselves create this madness 90-95% of the time with 5-10% being "noteworthy" variants as each one tries to outdo the other with the bigger badder collection with ridiculous variants such as these. Save your pennies.
