Fan Fiction: How Wave 9 Storm Shadow fits into my universe (long)

Julian Daye was an intelligent, compassionate teenager with a bright future and a love for the martial arts, orphaned when his parents were killed in the 9/11 tragedy in New York.

During the tough days following the tragedy, Julian was introduced to the GI Joe team during the rescue phase and disaster recovery process and developed a bond with Snake Eyes. With a history of personal tragedy and grief shared between them, the two became close very quickly through the one positive experience both lives shared, which was a respect and fondness for the Martial Arts.

With Kamakura having become his own man, following his own path, Snake Eyes felt that destiny had brought the boy to him and that it was also calling on him to be the next Young Master and apprentice follow the path of the Arishakage. While Julian had the utmost respect for Snake Eyes, the same could not be said for his feelings regarding the GI Joe program. Deep inside Julian harbored a deep rage, a grudge against GI Joe and the powers to be for not being there to stop the terrible tragedy that caused suffering to so many, including his parents.

As Julian's prowess of the Arishakage ways grew, so did his rage, anger and thirst for knowledge. He began to question The Silent Master as to why GI Joe had not been able to defeat Cobra and other similar terrorist threats to the free world. His distrust of authority (other than The Silent Master) began to worry Snake Eyes, thus he began to withhold certain forms, techniques and wisdom which he felt Julian was still not ready for.

At the same time, Scarlet and other Joes were secretly engulfed in a sensitive mission that involved members of the Joe team going rogue and appearing to defect to Cobra. One of these agents was Scarlett.

As the plan unfolded, Snake Eyes again withheld information from Julian, due to the Top Secret nature of the mission in addition to his concerns about Julian's state of mind. As each day went by, Julian grew angrier and more upset at the fact his Master was obviously holding back on some of the most deepest, deadliest Ninjitsu secrets the Arishakage form had to offer. He began to question his Master's dedication to a seemingly weak brotherhood in the GI Joe team.

Unaware of the GI Joe ruse perpetrated upon Cobra Commander and his forces, Julian became an unwilling participant in the battle between the two and witnessed Scarlett engaged in combat with her former Joe comrades. An unknowing Julian roared into combat ready which unbeknownst to him, was a planned charade designed to solidify Scarlett's cover as a disenchanted soldier jumped ship. During the scuffle, Shipwreck is accidentally wounded and killed by freak shot during the scuffle between Scarlett & Julian..when Julian feels the cold blade of his Masters sword against his throat.

Upset, enraged and feeling betrayed, Julian decides to seek a different path; one in which he can flourish and be amongst the strong...the focused.

Seeing opportunity within the turmoil, Cobra Commander reaches out to Julian, offering him the chance to complete his training under the tutelage of the brainwashed Storm Shadow and a place in Cobra. He convinces Julian that under his reign no other travesties would be committed on Cobra soil and that the Joes are just a means to placate the American into believing they are safe, when the real threat to the masses is the US Government itself. The Commander also sees within Julian a means to an end..a final solution to his lifelong enemy Snake Eyes. Just as Snake Eyes stole his brother from him, he shall steak his apprentice from Snake Eyes. As his newest bodyguard, coupled with the training of a Master such as Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander would strike Snake Eyes for good in the heart when the time is right.

At that moment Julian ceased to exist and only Lucifer, his codename newly appointed by the Commander himself, remained.

How fitting, thought the Commander, that the angel cast out be the newest, deadliest weapon in his personal battle for vengeance with Snake Eyes and the GI Joe team.

uhm.. just a question about storm shadow wave 1 (camou) that came with a GI JOE base.

is it the DDP version? or storm shadow did became a JOE in the past?

Yeah, it does have Star Wars influences and I think those specific factors (Scarlett, redirection of affection etc) make for a great story no matter who the characters.

Bottom line: Lucifer thinks he is going to be trained by the true master...but will betrayed once again when Snake Eyes rescues Storm Shadow from Cobra Commander's brainwashing..

that's when his rage will REALLY take hold of him...

Thanks Hamilcar. For some reason, I find generating these origins to be a nice form of stress relief and acceptable form of justification for buying a figure that really isn't accurate to the line but looks awesome.

I've bee thinking about doing mini dio stories like I used to do back in the day if I could scrounge the time.
