I had a cashier apologize profusely when she dropped one of my joes, but breathed a sigh of relief when I told her it was going to get opened anyhow. Maybe I just don't care as much since I'm an opener.
And I never take a bag. Of course I've never bought more than about 6 joes at a time, but bags bug me. |

I was pissed but I said I was giving it away. I wasn't planning on doing that, but in the end I actually did after getting the Batman and son joker. Now my friend uses it for an incent holder.
I have been prone to getting conversations about it. When I bought Bumblebee, the elderly clerk was admiring the car saying how she liked it. Another was with the clerk and the person behind me discussing the Transformers movie (I'm gonna say Ironhide but I'm not entirely sure). Then there was when I bought Indy and the lady was saying how she heard good things about Crystal Skull. The most recent was with a guy talking about the Dark Knight when I bought the only Movie Masters Joker I ever found (Woot!)
There was also a conversation I had with some guy in his 30s about Transformers and GI Joe (I held my own good for a guy knowing only about CC, Destro, Baroness, and Flint at the time.) I got that man into the G1 Robot Heroes.
For those MOCers, I hope you never have that problem. However I open my toys. They look great on display and when I get kids they can actually play with them (Except for TLH Two Face. He's mine)

The worst thing i have ever seen was at KB Toys though. I found 2 HTF Star Wars figs and when i went to buy them the guy scribbled over the UPC wit a sharpy. I almost Sh!t my pants. |

normally those folks are careful. you just need to be more like friendly with them. heck, if you want, you could ask them that they don't need to bag it for you. just tell them that you'll do the scanning or even do the bagging, they'll just reach out the scan gun for them to scan and you there just hold them up high.
problem solved? been there. done that. learn from experience.

Same goes for Target, as I always try and go to my "regular"cashiers, and my Wal-Mart's have self-checkout lanes, so no issues there. |

But I also use the self checkout whenever I can. I have cringed a few times when a cashier was putting the items into the bag but nothing bad came of it. |
