Red Ninja

Is anyone else disappointed that Red Ninja was chosen for wave 3? I can easily think of 50 figures I would rather have. I'm a little down that more variety hasn't been done with the first 30 figures. Thoughts?

Not really dissapointed or surprised. Since the current molds are sub-par for some, Hasbro has to use what they got, to push out new product for the rest of the year. New heads are easier to do, than whole new bodies, but at least the Red Ninja has a new headsculpt, so that'll hold me, till Hasbro gets all the kinks outta the current boy molds. They've already said they're gonna have these issues fixed for 2008, so I'm hopeful, they'll get it right.

the ONLY dissapointment that I have about the Red Ninja is his weapons selection. it is exactly the same as Storm Shadows. Reading the old comic books, they had various other weapons that you never saw Stormy with, and they varied from Red Ninja to Red Ninja. Really what SHOULD have happened, was this figure could have been the ultimate ninja accessory figure, coming with all of the ninja weapons that Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes did not. Its defintely a troop builder type of figure, and it was very inexpensive for Hasbro to simply repaint Tommy. I plan on picking up at least 6 or 8 of them, but I do not want them all to be holding bows and swords and nothing else!!!

Well, I expressed a problem with it earlier on but almost everyone seemed to dissagree with me. Everyone made it seem we should just be happy with whatever we got. That really pissed me off. If no one ever voiced their complaints, nothing will ever get better and potentially all get worse.

So keep those complaints rolling or we could end up with a 25th anniversary Storm Shadow repainted in his horrible 2004 costume. What... they are doing that? W-T-F? SEE WHAT I MEAN?!

Now I'm looking forward to a "Red Ninja Viper". Or should we call them "The Hand"...

Well he also has that staff thing:

Personally I still would like to see him in a blue green color (Maybe that'll be one of the varients?)

Am I the only one who was happy with a u.s. release of the cobra "satan" figure, sheesh, sure they changed the name to red ninja, but at last snake eyes, kamakura, jinx and the rest of ninja force have some troops to fight, and for the record the original satan figure was a straight repaint as well!

At least with red ninja out of the way, there is room for newer characters in later waves. For example, I'd much rather see a new character in wave 4, like a Night Viper, TARGAT or Alley Viper, or even Zanzibar, then to see the Red Ninja.

Sad. Someone actually mentioned Kamakura in respect to the Ninja Force. There are definetely 2 kinds of collectors out there.

The reason the with RedNinjaViper/Satan(s) should not be included in the 25th anniversary is...

1. In the original RAH run (the 25th anniversary were celebrating by the way) there were no red repainted Storm Shadows.

2. I don't believe this by a long shot, but some collectors say they got the toys as a kid because they loved the comic. Yeah right, whatever. Red Ninjas (who also by the way never officially had their own title) were nothing more than rip-offs of "The Hand" Ninja Clan from Daredevil. I love you Larry, but if you want to steal Frank Millers (bad) ideas, at least give your "version" a name.

3. Last, but not least the original "Satan" figure was nothing more than a Storm Shadow repaint. It's true. Too bad the toy wasn't a RAH (the 25th anniversary were celebrating by the way). For those of you who might not know, RAH stands for Real AMERICAN Hero. Not Real ARGENTINIAN Hero. If were doing THAT, forget all the figures we REALLY grew up with! Paint Scarlett silver and give me that Glenda fig I never knew I really I wanted. Throw in Abutre Negro and India's generic "Superhero" and I'm sure we'd all be set! Who the hell's General Hawk? I got the man, the machine, STREET HAWK!

Sorry, TK prime. I'm not trying to get on you or anyone else. By your handle I assume you're a bigger Transformers fan. That's cool, but keep in mind foreign TF's are much more respectable than foreign Joes. (Ones from Japan of course.)

The one obvious thing that no one has said yet is: HASBRO IS ONLY TRYING TO SAVE MONEY BY DOING REPAINT, AFTER REPAINT, AFTER REPAINT! I don't blame any person or any company for trying to save money. Just don't do STUPID, IDIOTIC things like put a really lame, 2004 costume design in 25th Annie, nastolgic package. That's just disrespectful. If they want to start yet another 3 3/4" line, with the very LEAST amount of money, take a moment to actually think about what would be good. They already have the sculpt (Snake Eyes) that mostly all the original Joes need. With that a Hawk, Grunt, Rock'N Roll, and all the others could be made and put in some cool 5pk's or whatever. That would all make sense! Those guys were around 25 years ago. Not a yellow-suspendered, gas-masked, JUMP-jetpack wearing, just made it the f-up Cobra Troop! Is everyone seeing where I'm going with this.

I guess I'm 'bout done with this rant. That Stalker fig better come with a green jetpack. And I take it back, a new Abutre Negro fig would be cool. But not for the 25th line. Maybe later.
