yeah, it's bloody awful IMHO (especially compared to last years ~ funny cuz FPs Transformer exclusive was the same way...)

If any of these sets sell, it will be because of the BATS and whatever joes they squeeze in?
I applaud the Collector's Club for trying to pull off good sets with the limited resources they have but I think they are scraping the bottom of the barrel a bit with this set. I think any of the classic style 3 3/4 is going to be a hard sell after the sculping and articulation of the 25th style figures. |

I've been blasted on this site before for even suggesting that the Joe Club move to the new 25th body-style. I'm just saying that if these were all new bodies, I'd feel almost compelled to purchase them and add them to my 25th collection even though I have no idea who they are.
As it stands, I have no interest whatsoever.

As it stands, I have no interest whatsoever. I kind of agree. I mean, there are obviously painstakingly painted...and I'll admit last year's con set looked good to me, and I only really just started collecting Joes last summer...but compared to the 25th figs these just don't hold up. I understand, though, that the Club can't get its hands on 25th molds.

Screw that, this is the only way us RAH fans get new stuff nowadays. Besides, if these WERE 25th style a lot of you still wouldn't get them because of the price - then you'd complain even more when they hit gold PDD/yellow Stalker prices.
The collector's club caters to people who have been collecting for a while and actually like the original figures - that's why they do 12" exclusives too. None of the RAH collectors say that they should stop giving 12" collectors exclusives, so why stop the RAH stuff? If you want 25th exclusives that's great, but they can do both. That being said I don't think this set is all THAT great - not a must have like last year's with the female troops in black. The teal (or apparently grey blue, whatever) isn't the most popular Cobra colour. I think they could have been a lot worse, but they could have been a lot better too. The Stormtrooper is my favourite thus far, though. Last edited by DPrime; 05-05-2008 at 08:01 PM.. |

i love this set so far. i can't wait to get this one actually! the colors are great and i am glad they are using obscure characters. i happen to like joes that can stand without a foot-peg, hold weapons, fit in vechs, realitively easy to locate and buy, no bobble-head head...............
i love the 25th, don't get me wrong, but i still love the vintage line more. they can post more pics of the other figs, but i'm already sold. |
