Hello everyone! My name is Albert Penello and I'm the webmaster of one of the (few) MASK websites. www.albertpenello.com/mask.
I'm a general toy collector but not a huge GI Joe aficionado. I have a handful of figures from my youth, but I've been getting the new 25th Anniversary Series just because they are so cool. Sort of like being able to get the toys I never was able to enjoy as a kid. Clearly however, I'm a HUGE M.A.S.K fan. Very few people remember the show or the toys, and I've always described them to folks as "sort of a combination of GI Joe and Transformers" You can only begin to imagine my excitement for even the POSSIBILITY of a new MASK figure. I'm sure there are people who think this figure takes away from getting another new Joe - but please have sympathy for those who get 0 appreciation If anyone here has pull with Hasbro, and generally as a community, please support this!! Imagine a strange, alternate reality where MASK was bigger than GI Joe, and we've had all these great lines and great toys for years, then suddenly this mysterious "Snake Eyes" character appears in a MASK announcement. That's only a portion of how juiced I am right now! It's not that unusal for Hasbro to do this - they recently announced a classic GoBot (Crasher) being done as a new TF (Fracture) so they have done stuff like this in the past. As for MASK not fitting in with GI Joe - I guess that part I don't understand. If Transformers can exist in the GI Joe world (and those toy lines are not to scale) then I can't see why MASK doesn't fit. Anyway thought I would share – it’s sort of fun to see the lines blurring a little and I can only hope Hasbro has the creativity to throw a little love to MASK! |

I'm not complaining about repaints because I still want a black v2 Snake Eyes with fixed crotch and leave the grenades gray not green.
The only stupid Snake Eyes repaint is the comic 2 pack wave one and the TRU ninja pack SE which I didn't buy. The only single card repaint v1 Snake Eyes was pure sweetness in all black and technically he was not a single card repaint since he only came in the Joe 5 pack. Oh yeah Matt Trakker if he looks cool I'll buy him if not I'll leave him for a M.A.S.K fan. I still think he should just be a SDCC exclusive. Last edited by Snake-Eyes; 05-06-2008 at 04:37 PM.. |

I think I'm going to make this my Signature!

Hasbro's G.I.Joe Brand Manager Neal Hoffman and asked. Here is what he said:
"I can confirm for you that Matt Trakker will be a tribute to the 80's M.A.S.K. line. Just a single figure cross-over; shout out to the 80's." DESTRO's Jedi Skills > Fans who hate me......... Where did all the haters go?

Well, though this morning's quote from Neal Hoffman confirms your statement yesterday Destro about the Matt Trakker figure, it's still nice to have a second source when it comes to anything new coming down the Hasbro pipeline.
