Littlest Pet shop and Star Wars outsell Joes but they havent jacked prices. Something about GI joe that commands a premium.
Even Transformers have reasonable prices, especially when compared to Joe prices now. |

What are you talking about? every store i have been to has Star Wars for $6.84. I saw them go up before joes. In fact i was at TRU and Target monday and joes were $5.99 while star wars was $6.84 Littlest Pet shop and Star Wars have been out longer than Joes. I assure you they arent outselling the 25th. maybe the V vs. V or the sigma 6 line. Every where i go has full pegs of Transformers. Those dont sell that great. Like i said, its supply and demand. Stuff that sits on shelves isnt going to go up in price as fast as items they constantly have to manufacture. If your not constantly making and item there now reason for the price to go up. When the cost of your supplys go up so does your product. |

the thing i don't get is wouldn't target and all the other stores want to stay at 5.99 so they could get more of us to buy the figs there instead of at wal-mart? this really does prove that they don't give a rats ass about us and it truly is only about the green.

Well, target doesnt get the figures for free. Plus the manufacturer sets the prices for items like that not target. The only controll they have over the price is raising it to make more for themselves. KB toys sells 25th singles for $7.99 now. Last edited by Jism83; 04-25-2008 at 01:36 PM.. |

They might be getting more business if they were cheaper, but they'd be making much less profit per figure sold, and possibly losing money. Remember, they have to pay to transport those figures to their stores. That means trucks. Which means diesel fuel. And yes, of course it is about the green because they are business attempting to make profit. They are not a toy dispensing charity.

Target has raised the price because let's face it, HASBRO has raised the price. They may still be claiming otherwise, but the MSRP on these figures has went up. Bottom line.

Of course they do. Certain characters sell out just as quickly as anything from the 25th Anniversary line, but all lines have less popular characters. |
