well my Target just did a price drop on the TF Deluxes. they go now for $6.99.
frak. kinda like TRU, they raise the price on the TF deluxes, then do a Buy 2 Get 1 Free, so they lost more money. now they brought the price down.

My daughter loves The Littlest Pet Shop toys by Hasbro. They havent gone up in recent months, nor have SW figs or ML.

Its supply and demand my friend. Now i know that sounds like Hasbor is jacking up the prices because they are selling out NOT TRUE. The littlest pet shop doesnt sell like joes do. Those items were probably made more than a year ago, and sitting ever since. People are buying joes, like they breath air. Noone, not even hasbro itself has any in stock. Therefore they have to produce more and more and more than any other figures around. Hasbro has to buy materials to make these figures. These materials are a product of oil. So when those materials go up, so does everything else. Thats why other peg sitters havent gone up. They have been there on the shelfs forever. But, star wars and gi joe are the biggest sellers. They sell faster than they can pump them out.

No, because they're actually bigger than G.I. JOE.

Hasbro said growth in brands such as Transformers and Littlest Pet Shop helped it beat expectations, driving earnings up to $37.5 million, or 25 cents per share, for the three months ended March 30. That was up from $32.9 million, or 19 cents per share, during the same quarter a year ago. (source)
These other lines will be affected by the price increases. It's just a matter of time. |

You'll notice there's no mention of G.I. JOE in that article. 25th Anniversary is a big collectors' line, but Littlest Pet Shop is very popular with children, so it's the bigger seller. It's also developed a suprisingly strong following of adult collectors. These other lines will be affected by the price increases. It's just a matter of time. Everything is going to go up with a a doubt. Its just a matter of time before they have to manufacture more stuff. Expect any new lines of toys to probably be higher than $6.84. i wouldnt doubt that new movie line retails at $7.50. They are going to have to manufacture a lot of new stuff for that line, purchasing supplys at a higher price now. The only thing that might keep the price lower is if t hey repaint the remaining stock of 25th figures. haha that would suck! Its just the way it is. Thats why we dont pay $1.89 for joes anymore. Theres more in factor here then just money grubbing people sitting at a desk here. |

The movie will get a lot of hype, so if they can get retailers to commit to huge orders, they might be able to stick with the current MSRP. That, of course, would depend on the price of oil stabilizing.

I will still pay whatever retail charges because i still want to buy these figures. If i find them at retail before my bbts order ships, i will buy them. Then i will cancel my bbts order and await the next wave of figures and vehicles...
Do i like the price increase?, no i don't. But collecting GI Joe is something i choose to do, not have to do. Therefor, if i want them bad enough, i will pay whatever retail charges for them...
