So it's been almost a year exactly since I got my hands on the unpainted preproduction samples of some of the Pursuit of Cobra figures. (I know this because my mom died last August and on my way to her house to deal with...well... that... I saw the mail lady on my way out the door and I signed for the package containing said unpainted test-shots).
The items we saw from conventions in 2009 were hand painted prototypes. Zartan seemed to have more prominent sigils and Destro had a more menacing face that seemed less chromatic AND there are pics of Destro with an outfit that was mostly all grey/black with NO red to speak of.
Below I've included a few comparison pics. Unpainted prepro samples vs actor head sculpt test-shots vs the final product.
Most notable change is obviously Zartan's head.
At a closer look, with Zartan, the eye paint design has changed since it's inception and the earlier versions sport a spring loaded rocket launcher and a different rifle. Also the Triquetra that originally adorned the back of Zartan's cowl has been replaced with a silver Cobra symbol for the final product. With Destro it's of course the 'Resolute'-esque green eyes.
I've also included some pics from the Hasbro Tour that have the original ROC mock-up art for these figures below before posting pics of the figures.
Here are the tour photos first, so you can get a better idea of what
was originally intended and then in my second post I'll start posting pics of the figure comparisons.

the WS/China leaked version has the actor head. The final version has the
smaller Resolute head. The sigils on the cowl are different. The vest that comes with the disguise does not have the ROC logo (nor any logo) anymore. The final version has a different rifle, no small gun, and no spring loaded weapon... whereas the original version has a small hand gun and the spring loaded bit. Also the final version has a much smaller war paint thing going on.

Toobad ROC didn't start off as good as POC did....I wonder what cool figures we would have at this point...but once again we have to sit and wait and see if POC can survive and or Renegades blows it out of the water to either be better or much much worse...
The destro's all really look the same in the face. Just subtle differences. I just want multiples of this actric destro for his winter coat which rox! Is the final version the one with the green eyes? They still looking at making him a Cyborg I guess wh8ich is cool...explains his Reslute Robo arm and wh he has a metal head  | |
