This issue, not as good as 156.

I do like the new Rage though.

didn't 156 come out a few weeks ago? Is it bi-monthly?

Huh. Actually looks like a real GI Joe funny book. How 'bout that.

I picked up 156 based on the sneak peek that I read online. I liked it. My wife thought it was too disjointed. To each their own. Seems to be building toward something. Might have to pick up 157 and see what happens next. The preview is slower, but we'll see.

And to think I'm not a Joe comic reader.

It's funny how much better Larry Hama's sketch version of the cover is than Augustin Padilla's. In Larry's version it actually looks like someone leaning out of a moving car window - the proportions and position of the body create the illusion.

In Padilla's version the body is too big and posed unrealistically - seems to be standing where the door is.

I think Padilla is lacking some of the fundamentals when it comes to drawing comics. This series would be alot better if Hama was drawing.

I noticed it is printed on very nice paper.

Also, I like the story.

Larry has always been underrated as an artist - much better known for his writing since GI Joe. I remember reading issue 27 and noting some of the art as being completely amazing - particularly a ninja throwing a star around a translucent Asian panel - and wondering who drew that.
