I like ice cream is an opinion because it can't be can't be right or wrong -- I haven't disputed anyone's opinion once. saying Stormshadow's design makes him unrecognizable is not an opinion, because it can be proven to be right or wrong if the character is recognized -- these are the positions I have contested and they are not opinions, so you don't know what you are talking about. not everything is an opinion, and not everything is subjective,

yeah but think about it this way at least. how many countries do we export Hummers to? let alone anyone who sees them automatically recognizes them as military. like them or not, it does stand out as a warfighter.

It's a lot different when the overwhelming majority of characters in genre films look like you (white males). When there's an opportunity for a Japanese American character like Storm Shadow to hit the big screen, disappointment on the part of Japanese American fans should be expected and (more importantly) understood when the filmmakers go in a different direction. |

In my opinion, that's why the movie is a positive thing, even if it does end up being a piece of garbage. It means Hasbro will produce new vehicles in the 25th Anniversary scale, stuff we wouldn't have seen otherwise. I have the Larry Hama stories for entertainment if the flick doesn't meet my standards; I do not have a shiny new jet fighter.
I think the buildup of JvC and the recent positive developments gave me too much time to raise my standards impossibly high. I will be glad for some new toys win lose or draw. Gi Joe vehilcles vary so much that I don't see how any collector would be disappointed. Do you think Hama's gonna be back in the saddle? Do you know something we don't? You could redub Mortal Kombat II and call it "G.I.J.O.E.F.O.R.C.E." and if Hama was writing new comics I'd be happy. Still, for a few shining moments I actually dared hope that Hollywood would see and preserve the feel of those comics. I can't complain too much until I see the film. I'm worried about what CC and Destro will look like though. I'd really prefer not to see Steel and Skeletor.

I hope we get some movie themed vehicles that do not show up in the movie, but fit with the aesthetic and based on the classics, like a new Skystriker and Tomahawk. I have a feeling we will see some big news and more reveals for the movie at SDCC that will get more people hyped.
dunk.
