I don't like Snake-Eyes' mask with the mouth. It just looks awful. The rest I can live with. Even Marlon Wayans looks cooler than Snake-Eyes' mask. Hopefully Destro and Zartan don't disappoint. Those two roles were great casting. I just hope they don't screw up the costumes.

Those of you worried about the movie figures looking completely different than your anniversary figures might need not worry much at all. Hasbro is making the new Indiana Jones movie figures and Star Wars figures. If they were part of the same franchise, you would not be able to tell that they were from different lines. Figure construction is the same. I see no reason why the gijoe movie figures will be any different than the anniversary figures. Yeah if there is an animated version, then I can see gijoe figures looking different. The anniversary versions have a more realistic aesthetic as opposed to exaggerated animated looks like Sigma 6, so I don't see why the movie figures will look drastically different than the anniversary figures.
Transformers is not a good toyline to compare gijoe too. Its too different. None of the formats from each toyline are shared. A comparison between a transforming robot line, to a human based action figure line is night and day. The anniversary gijoes went the Star Wars route with sculpting, stands, comic pack format, et al. The only Star Wars figures that look different from the existing ones are the old Clone Wars animated versions, and the upcoming animated versions. Hasbro even said we didn't need to worry since the joe team that worked on the anniversary figures is the exact same team doing the movie ones. Thats their way of reassuring us that things won't be too different. NYCC is this weekend, and started today. Hopefully Hasbro shows us more movie stuff and glimpses of the toys. Come to think of it, wwtdd.com's exclusive pics coincide with the first day of NYCC. So there might be more yum yums for all of us to enjoy as the weekend goes on. |

Why are so many people hung up on how THIS is how every char. will look throughout the ENTIRE movie. There is NO way that this will be the case. Maybe some traditional garb will be seen after all. More along the lines of casual cloths when they aren't in combat.
Did the X-men wear their black suits throughout the ENTIRE movie? Of course not, it was a small sequence and that was it, i'll go out on a limb and say the same here. Why are people raggin on SS's suit? If you asked me what's silly is to see SS run around in a ninja costume throughout the ENTIRE movie. This movie has a modern take on G.I. Joe, that sort of look doesn't fit in with the rest of what's going on, no modern edge to it. I feel at some point he'll have the mask, because it hides his identity, but i like the secrecy between the two characters *suit* *combat gear*. I get the impression that the SS in the movie gives the vibe of a professional and innocent businessman by day *suit look*and a deadly assassin by night *combat gear.* I'm betting he wears a mask with that gear just not in the pics we saw for some reason as said earlier to hide his identity.......sort of sneaky, mysterious, and evil if you asked me. Works well. I'll admit, SE's mouth looks weird since it's molded...reminds me of a robot or something, but remember these are tight close up still shots. I'd be surprised if something that small gets much film time if any to where we really notice and get annoyed. While I'm all for the traditional looks that we all grew up on and loved do you guys REALLY think that would of worked for this film in this day and age? You guys gotta admit, what seemed cool back then isn't EXACTLY the same now. To have one guy running around looking like a sailor, another as a mountain climber, as so on, may begin to look like a bad Halloween party more then anything else. As much as i love G.I Joe i gotta laugh myself whenever i watch the old toons. Some of the stuff is pretty funny and kinda corny at the same time. Whatever happens, happens little any of us can do, but i personally am open to some changes...wouldn't work in this day and age otherwise. |

No. Compare them. See how horrible transformers is because it way too many drastic changes. So far I think GIJOE has not gone down that same road. Think of TF as what NOT to do. It should put these not so drastic changes in perspective.
You need to read my entire post. Where I bring up how similar the power suits feel to the original thirteen's costumes (Hawk, Breaker, Grunt, Short Fuze, Rock n Roll, Steeler, Clutch etc ). See how similar they look? See how they look like a team? Anyone? ... Am I alone here?

These look incredible!
The Joes uniform is reminiscent of the early days when they practically had the same uniform. But i love the streamlined body armored look of them and black is a nice touch. Snake-Eyes has molded mouth. Why? He can't talk....why does he need a mouth!? Stomry just needs a mask. Other than that, its a great business ninja suit. Baroness=smexy.

I've always liked Sienna Miller so I would have stared a the pics even if it had nothing to do with the movie. She is hot.
NYCC is going on this weekend, so we might see more. I was wondering why wwtdd.com got the exclusive today of all days, then I realized that the first day of NYCC was friday. So I am pretty sure the timing was not a coincidence. I would expect to see more this weekend. NYCC is more fan-centric than Toyfair is, so we might get way more bones thrown at us this weekend than at toyfair. |
