Isn’t it funny on how many custom Scarlett figures we all have seen with her in an all black uniform, but once the picture from the movie comes out now people are complaining about Scarlett in an all black uniform. Personally it looks good; better than expected actually. Likewise, I would bet will see Scarlett in at least five different outfits in the movie. My guess; military dress uniform, camouflage pants and tank top (I would also bet she’ll have a fatigue cap with ponytail sticking out), SCUBA, polar, and a low-cut cocktail dress (to infatuate some secret base ala James Bond).

Crap, I hope they don't go for an all-black X-Men look. It worked on the X-Men since they had different powers, but the whole point of G.I.Joe (to me) visually is the distinctive "uniforms" (costumes). Otherwise it's just any old movie about military guys that are really good at what they do. And I've seen plenty of that.
Hopefully they won't be so timid/conservative with the bad guys' designs. |

the good:
1.ms.nichols is looking damn good 2.gotta love that crossbow the bad: 1.definatly not feeling the "everyone wears the same suit" idea. what makes gi joe so great is all the individual characters and their personalities. i'm not saying that they should look like their cartoon counterparts but come on. what if cobra all wear a uniform too? all i gotta say is storm shadow better be white. |

Action figure/comic book films are flimsy with regards how they hold up with the source material. You either get dead-on by-the-book films like Spider-Man (no black leather outfit for him) or something like Transformers.
This seems to look like both with a nod to the comics and fans but with a mainstream touch. I think when you make the costumes very much like how us 'fan-boys' envision or visually recognize the character you generate a lot of interest. Here, its luke-warm. If you put the photo of her infront of me and didn't tell me anything, I wouldn't recognize her. Snake-Eyes, I would recognize but give them an A for effort but a C/B- for execution. All in all, I expect this to be a lot like Transformers, a movie based on the action figures instead of a dead-on adaptation. |

If the costume makes sense in its use during the movie, then I can accept it. Its only the first image, we don't even know if this is a training power suit, preliminary, or one that she borrows from someone.
I wouldn't like an X-Men 1 approach either with the leather clad suits. |

i don't have a big problem with the outfits, personally. there are definitely MUCH bigger problems with the film than a hottie in a tight outfit.
big fan here. as someone said earlier...if the costumes from the comics work for a scene use them...if they're doing a night mission, they need the darker stuff. i can accept that. |

My personal opinion again: The 'look' will have little relation to how good this movie is. The X-MEN were changed (and for X-MEN fans, their 'look' is as important to them as the JOE's 'look' is for us JOE fans!) yet the first two X movies were, in my view, excellent.
The GHOST RIDER film on the other hand, nailed the central character's look exactly. Did that make the film good? Did it hell as like!!! To me, the importnat thing is that (so far), the JOES have been updated yet remained 'true'. The direction & tone of GI JOE will make the difference for me far more than a few black costumes being used at the end of the film.
