I do wish there had been a few surprises, but I guess I should just count my blessings that there are Joes to buy(soon), and that there aren't TOO many coming down the pike since I still haven't found work. Maybe this is my fault, guys, since I'm fighting unemployment. You can blame me :-D

I believe Shadow Tracker, Low-Light, and the Shock Trooper will have the newer articulation.

Well, here goes:
Destro: Awesome, to say the very least. I like the armor and the minigun, and to be honest, I think he may get a head swap... because, you know... They'd be awesome heavy assault/suppression fire troop builders. And the moneys? Now my Pimp Daddy Destro Dio is almost complete... just need a lowrider and some scantily clad female Cobra troopers with black eyes. Snake Eyes (Jacket): I did not like the first two POC versions of the Snake Eyes at first... but I can say that these are growing on me. Everyone is looking forward to the changeable head figure, and he is cool- but the one shown here is much to my liking. I am excited for it. Snake Eyes (Head Swapper): I will probably get crucified for saying this, but I am not pining for this one too much. Call me crazy, but it feels to me like this is long overdue- it should have been one of the first GI Joe figures released in the 25th collection. All I am saying is that this figure is WAY late, and I will get one... but the design isn't original at all. It's a blatant duplicate of the Sideshow figure. Low-Light: is going to be a fan favorite, and I can see the standoff with him and the Jungle Vipers is going to be intense. It's about time we got a decent sniper with a good weapon. Snow Job: Doesn't appeal to me at all, because the arctic theme isn't my gig. However, his weapon is going to the Jungle Viper. Storm Shadow: Okay, I know what they did. They want a "newer" ninja showdown between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Of course, despite the Hayabusa look of this Storm Shadow... I like it. Cobra Shock Trooper: Probably one of the more awesome troop builders, and I am happy for this. It strikes me more as a Cobra Security Trooper, honestly. To me the ideal Shock Troopers for Cobra were... Alley Vipers: And I can't say anything about this guy that hasn't already been said before. AWESOME. Mechs: Seriously, those figures are God-Awful. And the Mechs... we've seen those before, right? Whatever. I won't waste my money on these things. By the way, go back and look at some of the older pictures of the joes from this wave. I distinctly remember seeing Duke with a Pulse Rifle, Destro with a (whatever the heavy gun was from Aliens), and it comes to no surprise that Duke looks like a Colonial Marine. Something tells me Hasbro had a deal for some Aliens figures and it never followed through... |
