Say kill him off and get a new Duke like they got a new Spock in Star Trek.
Hey just an idea!

Still even with the strike I agree bad acting is just bad acting. Not sure how the writer's strike can be blamed for really bad costuming choices either. 25th and Resolute Cobra figures just seemed to fly off shelves but not so many takers on the movie look for Cobra.
Fingers crossed they can pull something good out of their hats for the second film. But they need to fix more than just the writing if they are going to pull off a great film. |

After watching it a few times the one thing that stands out, is his bad acting. Everyone else sort of grew on me. I think Marlon was the best of the bunch. He played his character well, and lets face it, the comics and the cartoons were full of cheesy one-liners. Ever listen to Shipwreck?
In fact, I think Channing would have been better suited for a different Joe Character and I would have been totally fine with his acting. Like Hit & Run or Steeler (a nod to the world without end when he falls for Baroness) I only hope we get Flint and Gung-Ho and Duke can sort of take a back seat in the sequel. |

HA! | None...it's like the same way the Cobras can shoot a barage of missiles and bullets and happen to never hit a single person...
War kills people?? Not it dosent it's all hollywood mumbo jumbo! pft...
I like the way he has to go out and make a comment like this, he knows it did not help his future and more of it will only make it worse, he better get to hoping they can work some real magic on the next unless he wants Raazies from now on lol. It would be funny though to see him actually not want to come back if it's going to end up as bad as the first one so it does not "marr" his acting carrer or soemthing stupid like that lol..."mumbles" I like that...however the irony is I think he would have been much better at this role if they had someone that could ACTUALLY direct him as a military leader...not some fluzie of a director like Stepehen Sommers...blame him Channing...your can only do so much with direction like that... |

No, they didnt rush it, they had bad ideas that came out to be horrible ideas!
It's just like GM ending production of Saturn's EV1 program in favor of the Hummer H2 peace of crap.... Lets see, people want cars that burn little to no fuel, only 8-10 years later. Toyota and a number of other companies figured it out and were made fun of...
All they think about is money right now and not latter on... The next movie should be better being the fist was that bad, but then again, nothing is impossible.. |

It definitely had flaws (some small, some pretty significant) but overall I found it fun and well-made. Certainly a lot better than some of the truly execrable movies that came out that year.
One reason why I enjoyed it might be that I'm pretty laid back about having the movie follow established characters/storylines. I actually couldn't care less about the movie not hewing closely to ARAH. The important thing is that they capture the spirit or the feeling of GIJOE and I felt like they managed to do that. Not 100%, no way, but it was there. |
