POC mail-away Cobra Commander available at retail first

...according to the new issue of Toy Fare. They have a Hasbro preview, and their bit for GI Joe is a picture of the mail-away Cobra Commander in front of the new H.I.S.S. Tank. They list "early August" as the release date for the H.I.S.S.

I'm not enclosing a scan or pic of the page because Toy Fare has been somewhat militant about stuff from their magazine being disseminated online in the past.

The full text for the Cobra Commander blurb is:

This Cobra Commander will be available as a mail-in figure, but he'll also get a limited run at retailers in August on a special card. "We think the fans will be pleased with the first-ever Cobra-themed single card design," Labovitz says.

Labovitz is Jeff Labovitz, senior brand manager according to the introductory blurb. Most of the text is nothing new. They do mention there being a new Dusty and Alley Viper though.

That's what I thought at first but then that doesn't really jibe with it being "at retailers." Unless they mean HTS, which I doubt.

I wonder if the "special card" is the one we've seen?

Isn't the TF "NEST" Mail Away an exclusive up in Canada (TRU, IIRC) while US fans will have to buy the figures for the stickers? I hope CC doesn't go the same way.

I just want the head, thanks to Asphalt I got it.

But I'm curious to see the jungle one. That has a new body, it should be hitting ebay any day now.

Most probably its the same, since he mentioned that it's a cobra-themed card... I was able to purchase one here in the Philippines for $35 from an ebayer....
