Troynos, you make a great and valid point. JOE is almost to big for a movie.
And what is this talk of Resolute DVD sales. Does anyone have a link for that? |

A movie has limitations on what it can and cannot do.
TV would probably be better for a concept like Joe then a movie. But even then I think there would be issues. Cartoon is the best I think.

The problem I had with Resolute is that it seemed to be trying to be an extension of ARAH where as ROC was something new with elements of all GI JOE from the 12 inch figures to Sigma 6.
So to me Resolute failed moreso then ROC...IMO. |

i hope they reboot the whole thing and not leave off where the first one did. they just reboot the whole thing.
see i liked res just for this reason. i hated S6 so to me roc failed as it was DDP & S6 more then anything else. |

I think Resolute was like the "last" episode of GI Joe, but at the same time left itself open to be the "first" episode of a new show.
Troynos, your point about Joe being too big for a movie is why RoC shouldn't have been a direct adaption. It had to be something new that stood on it's own. Rocky, you're right when you mention that they put as many nods as they could into that thing and that's something it seems either wasn't appreciated or outright missed by those that didn't like it. Toon is the best way to go for the property. Also, I don't see RoC as a stand alone movie. I think it's the 1st installment of a franchise. |

I can respect that. I guess thats what makes Troynos correcit in saying that a movie is just not the correct forum. We all have our perfect Joe movie in our head and nothing Paramount and Hasbro do will ever come close to that.

Classified has a good point. Joe is too big for a movie which is why they had to go for a somewhat new concept for it. Make the concept fit the confines of the movie.
I liked RoC, but I would have prefered something more in line with my vision of Joe. But my vision, like I think most of us here, just would not have adapted well (if at all) to the big screen.
