The VAMP is awesome! I love that it can fit 5 figures. Love the modular/interchangeable guns. The winch is great. The removeable, spare tire is also amazing. If those peg holes can hold backpacks, it's an outstanding touch. All in all, it's a really fantastic vehicle. Hasbro, now get to work on a new Joe tank, Echo class please.
The HISS is pretty menacing. Yeah, it's not a heavy tank, but it never was supposed to be. It's supposed to be quick. I really wonder if the HISS Scout can attach to his some how. If it can, it might really add to its menacing quality. The body of it also reminds me of the ROC Gunship which is an interesting aspect. Having similar styling to a few Cobra vehicles is a very cool touch. I just want to reiterate how much I love the idea of modular and interchangeable weapons on some of these new vehicles. It's something I've wanted in GI Joe for a while. DTC dabbled in it. And Sigma 6 as well. However, neither really utilized the potential for this feature. I would love it if certain figures came with weapons that could attach to the vehicles, so we could really customize the vehicles as we see fit. How it's taken GI Joe so long to get around to exploiting this is a mystery to me. Last edited by Ash Talon; 01-05-2010 at 01:37 AM.. |

Dig the VAMP muchly.
The HISS looks more suitable for "Scorpion" rather than "Cobra" but what do I know. I'll be buying the friggin' thing, anyway :P What could you really do to upgrade the HISS without losing what makes it the HISS? Hmm, maybe I need to custom up a new bad guy organization. |

New model sells to new and old collectors who are buying vehicles. Licensing costs? While I doubt there's much issue with military gear and a "military" toy line, but also less risk of running into your molds becoming useless when a company changes its mind about what its image should be & then refuses to allow you to use it (EG: Bumblebee the Chevy vs Bumblebee the VW because VW didn't want any weaponry associated with its products). |

The VAMP looks super sweet but the HISS is kinda out there. Too much Star Wars mixed into my Gi Joe. Anybody know how much for these guys? I'm a git the VAMP but the hiss is probably a no-go.
I wish they'd make stuff like the newer MRAPs and maybe even a Hummer. Where's the harm in having a REAL vehicle in the line?? These new army vehicles that are in service NOW look more like Gi Joe toys from the 80's. I just hope the Army doesn't come out with a POGO. Because there are already companies that do that, and it's what sets the joe line apart. I find just straight military vehicles totally boring, and much prefer things like this new vamp. and on the topic of licensing i think IIRC regular vehicles they have to pay licenses to use, but military vehicles don't, thats what i remember hearing somewhere.

I'm feeling both of these! It looks like the hisstank can attach to the treads in two ways the way shown and then in the shot that shows the underside it looks like there is a hole on the treads and a peg on the bottom of the tank. I wonder if that makes some sort of low profile "stealth" mode or something...either way consider these bought.
