I've read the comparisons of this new HISS Tank to the Resolute HISS Tank. The new one looks decent and might be very fun to play with, but it looks nothing like the Resolute HISS Tank.
Some of you have said that if Hasbro were to make a Resolute HISS Tank, it would look like nothing we saw in the cartoon. Yet Hasbro said we would never get a Cloud Car, and look what's happening now.
I think if you guys constantly make your voices heard, we may get what we want eventually. A new 26 episode cartoon is planned for the future and the approach Hasbro takes is to take advantage of higher brand recognition due to cartoons.
What does this mean? This means that Hasbro may likely use the cartoon and it's associated toyline as an excuse to pump out classic vehicles within that line, "offscreen" vehicles that we like. Or perhaps vehicles that existed prior to the cartoon and show up anyways. Like the Republic Gunships in Clone Wars.
This works out for us IF Hasbro decides to take that route. I think this year has proven that even with a movie and associated toyline, you still have a good number of fans that would buy classic stuff, if both lines are sold simultaneously. Transformers Animated, some Universe, and Revenge of The Fallen sold side by side this year, and with Star Wars, you not only have The Legacy Collection and Clone Wars on shelves, but Saga Legends as a subline of The Legacy Collection. I think G.I. Joe would benefit from that kind of format. For example next year or after Pursuit of Cobra:
I mean come on, I look at the new HISS, and I can see ANY of my Cobra figures, be it movie, Resolute, ROC, et al, in that thing. So IMHO Hasbro ought to take the Star Wars approach; vehicles encompassing every line of figures, and having a variety of figures with different media tie ins on shelf.

I've never been a huge fan of the H.I.S.S. Tank in the first place, despite it being an iconic vehicle, and I own at least a few. It's just awkward and top heavy and a poorly designed tank, and this thing is super weird too. I'm not even a big weapons/artillery/tank fan, but it just doesn't look practical to me, novice that I am.
Cool looking, but too weird. It looks like a H.I.S.S. evolution though, so it has that going for it. I honestly don't mind the new H.I.S.S. Driver, but I agree they should have updated the head. I've always found it weird looking. Funny that Tankers have made similar customs previously from that Pilot Destro gear.
That Re-VAMP (get it?) looks totally badass though. I love the VAMP, and even though I feel like it's not too dated feeling, this new version is badass. Loving the driver too, is that a nod to Tollbooth with the sledgehammer? I guess it'll be an updated Clutch, from the looks of the head.

The jeep looks awesome! Love that it can carry several guys. Also love the modular weapons. The rear gun assembly has great movement for mowing the enemy wherever they may be. I hope it's in a color similar to the original VAMP.
I bet the ROC missle launchers fit in the weapon holes. Highly likely they're the same size as the RHINO's since those are different than the more recent ROC launchers.
The HISS looks great! Far more menacing than the original HISS. I like that it can rise and swivel. Gives it great adaptability. It also looks like a nice size.
Two great additions and hopefully a sign of things to come with new vehicles.
These were originally announced as Feb/Mar release, right? I wonder how close to that streetdate they'll be. I know there's the dreaded "No Pursuit of Cobra till 2nd half of 2010" rumor, but there's an add in the newest Toy Fare (just came out today) with City Strike Snake-Eyes, and it mentions the Pursuit of Cobra theme. Highly doubtful POC is pushed back but they're advertising for it already.
