According to the Tranformers podcast moonbase 2, Susan Blu (G1 and Animated Arcee) is casting for a new Transformers cartoon series and Michael Bell auditioned. In addition, Mr. Bell reported he also auditioned for a new GI Joe cartoon series for General Hawk. This new Joe series will reportedly run for 26 episodes. Keep in mind that any new cartoon will be well over a year away if they are just now in the casting stage. First new on GI Joe Resolute came from casting news that appeared well over a YEAR before the concept was even revealed, and Resolute didn't air for another 8 months after it was revealed.

Interesting.
We all figured there would be a Joe and Transformers cartoon for the new Hasbro TV station. Interesting indeed.

Good news even if we have to wait a while still.

Too little too late.
Hasbro should have had a cartoon in the works already with the whole Movie thing being their main focus. Movie in August with a cartoon in Jan-Feb. Resolute was awesome but I don't think we'll ever get a Joe cartoon as good as Resolute. Just gonna have to wait and see how things pan out. |

Definately not too little or too late, especially with PoC being at the end of 2010. First part of PoC comes out, cartoon hits, 2nd offering of PoC hits.

I hope that pans out. Michael Bell as Hawk would be a win!

If the toon is even based on POC. By the time it airs Hasbro may have already shifted G.I. Joe into another theme, one based on the show. Either that or they plan on putting out two separate lines, which I think is rather highly unlikely. So a lot of questions still up in the air in terms of how the new series and the figure line will both work out.

My guess is that the cartoon will be based on the movie continuity and follow the "theme" of PoC, which have to admit is perfectly set up for a regular cartoon series.
