Do a search for the Doc and Shipwreck images.

That's what you think the packaging will look like? Do you call that Doc and Shipwreck RoC or PoC?

Both. Like I said, it's the transition stage.

I know... I'm not trying to be a pain here, just pointing out it's confusing and it bugs me to hear people say "PoC isn't coming out until the end of 2010," when our own "official" '10 What we Know list here
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...t-we-know.html and our reviews of 1/10 wave figures like Snow Job here G.I. Joe Pursuit Of Cobra Arctic Threat Snow Job In Hand Preview - GI Joe News both call them PoC. Quoting Shin from the above review: "[Snow Job]is one of the most desired figures so far in the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra line." Again, not trying to be a pain, just wish we'd start calling these something like RoC/PoC to recognize that transition and eliminate the ambiguity... I'd be willing to bet money that if you took a poll of Hisstank readers and asked them what line that Snow Job is from, they would say PoC, and to say "PoC isn't coming until the end of 2010" is confusing and contradicting what's on "official" site postings made by mods.

The problem is that we all thought the stuff at Joecon was going to be the PoC stuff, so all started calling it that.
Then Hasbro said they were pushing PoC back and we saw the stuff we had seen at Joecon showing up online in RoC packages with the PoC environment colors. Yeah, just a tad confusing. It's all the same thing though, all the same continuity and line.

That's the part that had me originally a tad confused... when i heard the PoC/end of 2010 stuff, it didn't sound like a discussion on the labeling, but that there was some official Hasbro announcement I missed...
I think I've got the whole picture, and like you said, the figs are the figs are the figs, but I was curious to read up on the pushing back... Do you have a link to that? I searched around a bit but couldn't find anything. thanks!

We've seen pictures of the packages for the Shipwreck and Doc figures, as well as the Sting Raider and the 4 Target ones: Ace, Sandstorm, Elite-Viper and Range-Viper.
All those were shown at Joecon. They are in RoC packaging with Pursuit of Cobra on the side (the vehicles) and a message from Hawk on the back. They also have the color codes for the 4 different environments. Similar to City Strike Snake-Eyes and Duke, Arctic Threat Storm Shadow, Desert-Viper and Jungle Assault Ripcord, all of which are officially part of the 2009 releases. My guess is that the combined RoC/PoC packaging is transition from pure RoC to pure PoC (which we'll see later half of 2010). Those don't really count cause they are store exclusives, I mean there still may technically be part of the line, but I don't think you can judge until we see regular carded zartan or something thats a regular release. It is very strange we havent seen carded samples yet. |
