So...
Cobra VAMP!?! (can you say easy repaint for Hasbro to give the Joes) Please let it be a Stinger with a new name. Armadillo vs. Air Chariot!!! Hopefully both of these remain in their 80's colour schemes. DVD sets! What? No love for Operation Dragonfire? (tee hee). Glad to hear it. Looks like a lot of those figures for a supposed wave 8/9 could end up in those sets. |

Had no idea this was coming. The year looks like it going to be awesome. So much for only picking up a few out of nostalgia. The 25th anniversary Joes may surpass my Star Wars collection.

Interesting vehicle info. Sounds like we're getting more vintage vehicles re-released but without figures packed in. Certainly the Cobra VAMP is really the Stinger and just mis-named in the press release (or at least re-named).
Two smaller vehicles packed together for $15 is an interesting idea. However, packing Serpentor's chariot without Serpentor himself seems odd. I guess the more classic Serpentor hinted at will have a different home when he's released. I woudn't worry about the exact total of 2packs. Obviously, there will me more to come. I think the counting of 2008 ones probably starts with Wave 3. Not sure where that takes us total wise, but I'm sure these will continue throughout the year. $15 for 12" figures doesn't sound too promising. If there anything like previous attempts at releasing RAH characters in this scale, I'll pass. The Sideshow ones might be interesting, but I'm no longer in love with the 12" scale. Overall, I think it's obviously going to be a huge year for GI Joe. Can't wait to see some new stuff starting this weekend. I just wonder if Hasbro will keep up this break-neck pace with the line. They have a ton of Iron Man, Hulk, Tranformers, and Star Wars Clone Wars product to push out there for their respective movies/shows. Can Hasbro keep up this incredible pace they've started for GI Joe as well? |

This is all potentially mindblowing, but after the wave 8 let down, I'm not getting excited till I see pictures.
At only $15 I'm thinking the only updates the vehicles will see are more room so the figures can fit, and not get a real 25th update like the figures. Paying $20 for a dvd and three figures that will surely include repaints? I'll have to wait and see these. And it looks like there are only three single figure waves left we haven't officially seen. I hope they'll be the best we've seen and the line will go out with a bang! |

sounds decent, i hope they don't put to many awesome characters in the Battle packs, cuz i really hate all things GIJoe animated and would rather avoid those...
I agree that the comic pack numbers seem a bit off since we'd pretty much get too 15 by june/july at the current release schedule... (seems likely/possible that htye are not counting wave 1???) 40 figures is amazing (i looked at Destro's master list and we know about 25 of them so far...) Vehciles: YAY, Aramdillo!!! BOOO Air Chariot!!!! (I would have thought that about as desirable as Cobra La figures) and looks like they're doing what i suspected: one package size with mid-size vehicles (like the Target ones) and 2 packs of the smaller vehicles. (i wonder if Battlepacks come with 3 figures if they will have a small vehicle like the trouble bubble also.) I hope we see some more interesting paint aps then what they did for the Target ones. so that list that was out in the wild a month or so back was pretty darn accurate. I hope i can scratch off most if not all my top 10 this weekend

i also hope there's not a lot of duplication between the battle packs and regular releases ~ like, why is Mass Device Cobra Commander and Movie Opening Duke single packed when they would make more sense in the Battlepacks...

I read all this news and nearly swooned. (Yup, swooned.) I think my wallet ran away.
