Electronic Arts Developing G.I. Joe Movie Video Game

Variety.com has posted an article that confirms that there will be a G.I. Joe Movie Video Game. EA will release the game in conjunction with Paramount's 2009 Summer Blockbuster G.I. Joe: Dark Sky: First Strike.

An EA rep confirmed that the publisher has interactive rights to "G.I. Joe" as part of its overall deal with Hasbro, but declined to comment on any specific game plans.

please oh please-- remake the original arcade game and release that as well-- (I put too many quarters into that as a kid) and Id rather play it at home.

I figured with as many games there are that were made for movies that we would be seeing one. Can't wait to see if it will be worth buying.

While I'm happy EA has the license, unless they state their going to make a Joe RTS game I'm non-phased.

EAs track record with licensed titles isn't that great, so i wouldn't get my hopes up.

If i was them i'd ge thte studio who did Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for the Wii to develop it, that game is hella fun and the engine would work well for Joe ~ I'd go third person though like Resident Evil 4 instead of FPS ~ better for environmental interaction.

I was hoping for a Joe game that ran like CoD4...I think that would be incredible.

I hope its FPS with teams. They should do a Call Of Duty 4 type of game!

man I was just about to post a few days ago that the good thing about the movie is we finally get our first video game since The Atlantis Factor.... which i still play to this day.

No offense Destro, but what's the point of G I Joe being first person if all you see is your hands?

i really hope it's third person with teams ala Marvel Alliance/Tenchu/Mercenaries.

Mercenaries is a fun game made by EA and I hope it's along those lines.....ability to drive and fly vehicles, loads of weapons....hope you can outfit charcters with different ones.

Like Snake-eyes you could have a sword, his uzi, knife, pistol, choice of grenades, different rifles.....okay I have to calm down now.
