Why do they have regular Elite viper instead of Night Adder? Elite vipers don't have dogs.
But I might get this set. I might not. It depends on how I feel that day. |

Thanks Hasbro...
thanks for dropping the ball AGAIN on what could have been an awesome set with a female Dial-tone, Repeater and Footloose. Really? With all of the molds that you have at your disposal and you give us some half-ass nods to classic characters? Are you guys even TRYING? OK, I can get using Helix's head as a female Dial-tone from the Resolute series. Almost everyone here thought that it was Dial-tone when we first saw pics of her. But, you should have used the head for Dial-tone FIRST because now when we look at her, all we see is Helix. As for Repeater... what, because he has a gatling gun and a cap we're supossed to accept him as Repeater? No. Here's how I would have handled Repeater: Repeater: head: RoC Zartan disguise head or that big chinned bastard Falcon head, with a removable cap. torso: Viper upper arms: Viper lower arms: RoC Sgt. Stone (please GOD no more Flint arms! They've been done to death now. And those gloves are LAME!) left hand: 25th Airborne, or some other fingerless gloved hand right hand: generic bare hand legs: RoC Zartan or Hawk backpack: 25th Airborne (almost dead on match to original - maybe even a little better) vest: 25th Outback gun: RoC Heavy Duty And don't get me started on Footloose. Epic fail all around on him. |

Well.. while they're at it.. Hasbro should give Lady Jaye an operation and turn her into the Man she always wanted to be! And when are they coming out the first Openly Gay Soldier. We need some figures that reflect the current military right??? I'm not Hating, I find it hilarious that they are totally rewriting some of the old characters to make them more PC at the expense of the Hardcore fan. I'm glad I can't name a single comic book issue, so they are all fairly new to me! I watched the cartoon casually mostly relegated to re-runs and the movie of course. But my collection was all but lost, probably given away to good-will while I was enjoying the desert sun in Iraq.

Don't worry everyone. You just have to wait 3 more years and you'll have 30th edition figures with classic re-configurations of your favorites. I'll just wait until then.

I figure they've got to have something up their sleeves for the 30th figures... those and some Duke and Snake-Eyes figures - '91 Snake-Eyes probably.

The Cobra one is ok, but the figures are already a bit bland. The Viper with the dog is ok.
The joe one every one of them looks generic. I love Repeter's gun. I would possibly pick up the Joe set and just use them as generic troops. I miss the 80s style of wildly different clothing styles. Every figure looked different (unless it was a nameless grunt). You could tell who they were when you saw them. I've been out of the loop on GI Joe figures for a while so a lot of them look the same to me.

Hasbro is really making a fool of us. Making so many repaints, particularly the heads without really putting effort in making new characters. The viper set is ok but the joe set really suck, all are just head swaps with same uniforms.
