The film budget was $175M and it's almost done that in worlwide sales already, so it looks like it'll make money with quite a while left in theatres plus DVD sales.

Remember, though, it still has to make back its marketing budget. That's probably another $100-$150 million. I agree that with DVD sales, etc, it ought to make enough for a sequel. But let's not count any chickens yet.

I'd like to see links to this $100-$150 million marketing budget. I find it VERY hard to believe the marketing budget would be anywhere near the film budget.

well it's still good news. hopefully they'll have a good story for the sequel. I want big action but not at the expense of good storytelling. either way I'm glad it's making it's money. I might see it again tomorrow.

Even if that was the case, the amount of money they've brought in with tie-ins have to be counted into that.
