Dear Stephen:
First, I don't hate you. I own both Mummy movies on blu ray and enjoy them. I can see it in your eyes, the excitement you have on this show. However, Van Helsing was horrible. It looked bad, the story was bad, and it was acted bad. I prefer my werewolves and leading ladies to be more Underworld than Van Helsing, sorry. Gi Joe is precious to us. The fans of this website have enjoyed these characters for 25 years. They are toy, televison, comic and media icons. Changing these characters at all is frustrating. To change the mask of cobra commander, for example, is like changing the mask of Darth Vader, you just don't do it. These characters are timeless. I truly hope this is a beginning story and we will see these characters evolve. To introduce a new toy that you had in your head for ten years, the accelerator suit, while ignoring all of the other great things Gi Joe has to offer, is frustrating for fans. We want to watch iconic gi joe action and these suits are something different. I will see this movie the first day. If it is good, I will see it multiple times and buy it on blu ray. I support you, I do. Just support us, the fans and be true as possible to our beloved joe characters, too. Be good to us here, and we will be good to you. Not hating, just saying. Erik |

Truthfully, I think with the scope of G.I.JOe, it probably would have been better to do a TV series. May not have as good special effects but it would force the producers to make good stories and with the wealth of background story available, they could make the show last for years!

though, it appears the criticisms directed at it from the "haters" don't seem to be coming to fruition from those how have seen it already. |

Erik[/QUOT I don't think he ever mentioned the accelerator suit being a toy. Anyway, I think he's on the right path. He's going to take it to the next level. I know people grew up on it, but dude come on, really ?? That mask is probably going to change Sommers said it himself so I think we shouldn't worry about the mask. Think about it...if they put all the stuff we want to see in 1 movie. We would just have another crappy street fighter. Am I right ??? |

yeah, thats what i meant about the chicken or the egg...he seems to say he has/had all these great ideas, but i wondered if it was after his education, be it from fan backlash or just from being involved, or both that these revelations have come to him...
like did he always plan to use the chrome mask in a sequal?...i'm kinda skeptical... the down fall will be that they think they will make a 2nd one right off the bat. they cant be 100% pos on that. this interview is just another way to say its good go see it. it has not changed my mind one bit. ill see it though i dont have high hopes of it to be a good joe or even a action film. |

I'd guess that he had the idea of the accelerator suits 10 years ago... but not for Joe. That's why they are such a small part of the movie.
It's a set piece, nothing more. |
