I'm surprised so many people want to see Roadblock. All the rhyming is annoying and would be even more ridiculous in live-action. Hopefully, if Roadblock enters in a sequel, they'll change that. Though I still most prefer Stalker. I'm still baffled at people complaining about Snake Eyes. I think he looks dynamite and exactly how I always imagined a live-action Snake would look. And the movie does have a focus on Snake, his background, and his rivalry with Storm Shadow.
It would be nice if people would wait until they've actually see a complete film with their own eyes to make up their minds. Nothing's more annoying than an uninformed a-hole who touts his "opinions" without knowing the full story. Not only do I hope the movie does well, but I'm starting to hope it does well just to further piss off all the complainers and haters. I believe all the rhyming is why Roadblock may have been shelved. Funny thing is, I don't believe there is a fan on this site who would expect Roadblock to be speaking in rhyme anywhere in a live action film! Roadblock was the HNIC in the comic. A stand up hero. A man who could kick Shaft's ass! As for Heavy Duty, who is that guy? One of those Joes that came out after '87. Didn't buy him! Dumb character. Roadblock is as well known as Duke or Snake Eyes. To blatantly circumvent all that and use "Heavy Duty" is inane. Its been covered enough already but it is the same kind of senseless and inexplicable baloney as using a black Ripcord and not use Stalker. Stalker is as well known as Duke too. How did they come up with ripcord. They could have used the name Blowtorch for all I care! To answer your final comment about why people are complaining about the film before seeing it can be sumed up with one word. FEAR. I think people are scared as to what they will see when this show starts. There have been so much creative wrangling from what the original was. It distorts what was Joe into something Lorenzo Di Bonaventura believes is the modern world view of some kind of UN/NATO special forces squad. Too contrived for me. I will see it but I too am scared. Please don't hold my fear of what they have done to the Joe universe against me. In my opinion, I don't think anything they have done will be an improvement over what was originally set.

I strongly disagree with all of you calling this man a "tool". Tools are useful. This man is not.

I agree with almost everything you have said in this thread except this one. How can you seriously argue that Batman and Robin did not hurt the franchise? There is significant proof that it did. Just because they re-launched it into a more successful franchise does not take away that fact.
