Well I am mixed on this line....I was, like many, hoping for the o-ring originals. They did it for Star Wars, and hell even Ghostbusters (which was nowhere even close to as popular and profitable as GI Joe was) with mostly good results. Okay, molds gone and they do not want to recreate them (though the original 13 used so much parts swapping it would have easily recouped costs) so they chose to use modern era. WHY CANT THEY EVEN CHOOSE THE RIGHT REPRESENTATIONS! I mean come on they did a remake of the 1984 Storm Shadow and 1983 Snake Eyes on 25th line....what happened? Even the Hiss Driver is a bastardized version. Whoever is on charge on this line needs to do some actual market research and studying of the product. Hell it looks like the Cobra Commander in wave 3 is going to be the sub-par 25th rather than the stellar Retaliation one! SMH!
I will buy the Vehicles for the Vehicles, but the figures....probably not.

The black "turtleneck" or whatever shirt is supposed to be under his jacket bothers me a lot. It's just the lazy 25th mold or something in a similar style that doesn't bother to sculpt his uniform. I also much prefer the gloves on the Ultimate.
This doesn't matter too much to me because I have a lot of the Ultimate CC and don't need another one, but I am hoping Retro focuses on the best versions of characters or gives us improved looks. Jason |

The forearms make no sense. Why not use the shock trooper ones that are already part of that mold and are much better? That's a very strange choice if for no other reason than they had to go out of their way to make it, when so many of the other figures are indicative of an absolute refusal to go the extra inch.

I’ll be really curious to see how these do long term (meaning into DEC/Christmas sales).
This continues to be my scale, but what will kids think? Will Fortnite really help push kids towards Joes and the 4” scale, or will Classified in the trendy 6” scale win the day? I tend to think 6” wins while even less collectors ignore Retro offerings if they continue to be simple releases from 4 years ago. Like said, it’ll be interesting to follow! I REALLY want new movie figures in 4” ME, so I hope I’m wrong. The next factor will be how often Hasbro releases the new waves. Honestly, I don't see Hasbro putting out more than 4 waves of figures and vehicles before Christmas. So that the 3 waves of carded figures either revealed or rumored and then 1 extra for us to speculate. If I worked in marketing, I would have wave 4 out by late October/Early November and I would make the 2 vehicles medium to larger size to have that "I GOTTA HAVE IT" appeal for Christmas. So, here is my rundown of hopeful waves up till Christmas: Wave 1: SnakEyes, Storm Shadow, Baroness HISS Tank w/ Driver, AWE Striker w/ Crankcase Wave 2: Roadblock, Scarlett, Destro Stinger w/ Driver, VAMP w/ Clutch Wave 3: Cobra Commander, Duke, Stalker On the vehicles, this is HUGE speculation, because these two vehicles originally were not released with figures, but have been released with figures ever since and since the original box art depicts characters riding the vehicles, I don't think it would be too far off of Hasbro to issue new "retro" boxes with figures included. RAM w/ Breaker, Cobra Flight Pod w/ Televiper Wave 4: This would have to be the year-end show stopper unless they have time for a wave 5. Firefly, Beachhead, Gung-Ho (other honorable mentions here or for wave 5 would be: Cobra Officer, Flint, Lady Jaye) Tomahawk (Eaglehawk) w/ Lift Ticket (ARAH colors), Cobra Rattler w/ (new) Wild Weasel (other honorable mentions here or for wave 5 would be: Skystriker w/ Ace, Watermoccassin w/ Copperhead). Who knows though, they may come all the way out of left field and give us some carded figures we're not expecting. I'm still hoping for a Grunt figure using either the POC Snake Eyes build or POC Cobra build. Jason |

Well, Hasbro better have a game plan for Christmas if they are releasing the first wave of figures in August. If we base it off the first wave, and what we know about wave 2 and 3, it looks like each wave is three carded figures and (hopefully) 2 vehicles (with drivers?). I guess whenever Hasbro talks more about wave 2 (Roadblock, Scarlett, & Destro) we will learn whether each wave includes 2 vehicles (with drivers).

I wonder if this stock bump is a result of Wal-Mart purging bot orders (if tons of bot orders happened). It's odd that nothing else is back in stock but the item that sold out first has come back in large numbers. Dunno. Maybe they're ordering a second batch. Just seems odd to only order a second batch of that one item and no others.

I doubt we ever get an explanation, but I hope everyone can now get it if they want it.

Dear Hasbro: Just tell us what you're gonna be releasing! I had to stop myself from buying a few vintage vehicles on eBay because we still don't know what future Retro vehicles will be.
I had to sell almost my entire collection (toys, tools, props) to fund a move a while back and now that I'm finally in a position to start reacquiring I've got Walmart threatening to drop a totally budget-friendly VAMP or Moray in my lap, all without having to worry about missing parts, repro decals, or 30+ year old plastic? I can't even bring myself to get a Rolling Thunder because maybe, just maybe they'll decide to dust off those molds and I'd be able to get three brand-new ones for the price of one original.
