I will buy the obligatory Destro...but I am going to be uber choosy as to what, if any future items I add to the collection.
I like my Joes like I like my own penis - 3.75", fragile as fuck and barely used other than for the occasional photo where I'm fishing for attention. |

I am excited to see what they do with the Classified line. I pre-ordered the 1st 4 figures. I think Snake Eyes looks the best so far. I like Scarlett and Roadblock too. I like Duke but I feel like the head sculpt may be a little off?
The positive of having a 6" G.I.Joe line is that there is the potential for really detailed figures. (I have been collecting the Marvel Legends X-Men figures and they are fantastic.) And with Hasbro having Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends, G.I.Joe Classified may benefit from the advances they make in the other lines. I think it's cool that they want to do updated designs for classic characters. I've enjoyed a lot of the updates they made to characters throughout the years. It would be cool to include some classic designs in the 6" line too (like the way Marvel Legends mixes movie and comic versions). To me, the Sunbow cartoon series and the Marvel Comics G.I.Joe ARAH are still the gold standard when it comes to media representation of G.I.Joe. I am playing War on Cobra right now and it's fun. I'm going to see the Snake Eyes movie too. And if they made a new cartoon I'd watch. I am going to get the TPB of the "Snake Hunt" storyline (G.I.JOE ARAH) when it's released. I totally understand why a lot of us still want the 1/18 scale of figures (and vehicles and playsets!). Who wouldn't? We all want to add to our existing collections! What I've been wondering most is what media (if any) will the new Classified line be tied to? I think the line would really benefit from having stories featuring these updated characters. Does it mean anything that they included vehicles in the poster they had at New York Toy Fair? It seems like the first few waves of characters are probably represented in the poster. Which characters will end up in the line? They can choose characters from 1982-2020. I feel like most of the characters will be from 1982-1987 or the Snake Eyes movie but there are a lot of cool ones from other years. Will we see special teams like Tiger Force, Slaughter's Marauders, Python Patrol, Night Force, Iron Grenadiers, or Sky Patrol represented? I'm going to be picky (like with Marvel Legends) after this first wave and only get my favorite characters if they have really cool designs. Last edited by LockOn; 03-05-2020 at 03:30 AM.. |

Totally agree with you on all of this. I would love to get a cartoon to watch with my son to really drive home the line.

don't want s7 and their decade old trash buck anywhere near arah or the g.i.joe brand. 40$+ for a decade old buck that by todays standard is almost like comparing the posability of the 80's line to the tin and plastic staticons that you have to paint yourself.
^ those sorta bucks should be industry standard Last edited by magik; 03-13-2020 at 05:48 PM.. |
