My thing is, if they can't get the build right they can at least compensate by getting the paint apps and weapons right. Construction is only good enough. In my opinion, he would look so much better with closer ARAH v2 colors and the proper weapons.

I actually 75% love the construction myself. Outside of the gold, I like the colors for the most part, and I actually DO really like his head sculpt and the definite nod to my favorite version of him, the V2. What I don't dig are the "tech" aspects to his vest and the shin guards/knee pad. The railgun is a definite deal-breaker for me. Scarlet can be summed up about the same way, though her accessories are perfect. Of the 3, Duke is probably the best, but we're back to the accessories.
I understand the desire for Hasbro to try and get away from guns and military themed figures, considering the current social climate, but those are two crucial aspect of the franchise. It feels as though they've removed the "G.I.", and just left us with an average Joe. I'm in the camp that says, "they aren't awful, in fact there are many aspects that are quite nice... but it'll take excellence all the way around to warrant a scale switch". Not necessarily upscaled "ARAH", because Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlet and all the rest already are ARAH characters, regardless of how they appear, but, you know, something that feels like GIJoe to me. A lot of the ME figures managed to find that nice balance, and I hope these do down the line as well.

I can’t comprehend what you are talking about. It is not humanly possible to buy an action figure from a toy line and then not own every other figure in the line. To try to do so is to court insanity and death.

Somewhere I saw a photo where someone swapped Roadblock's tuning fork weapon with. .50 cal machine gun. Anyone know where you can get a 6 inch compatible one?

There’s no stress involved in seeing your checking account dip below zero moments after getting paid, being given the entire basement for your collection and barely having room to walk down there because of the piles and piles of toys, and not getting any sleep for fear of missing some character that you don’t care for who appeared in the background of a comic/movie that you barely liked or didn’t read. It’s fine. Really. On an unrelated note, I saw an old picture of myself recently and was reminded that before the relaunch of Star Wars (Power of the Force), I had hair!!! |
