Looks like that to me too. I was going to disassemble my Duke the other day so I could start painting in missing details, but the base of the post is significantly lighter than the plastic around it. If it's looking stressed now, I'm not going to try popping it off with any amount of heat.
Could you cut a small disc of craft foam to fit in the void between the midsection and pelvis? Quote:
Same. I'm sure they will be plenty of customizers who can weigh in on this eventually. Right of the bat I'm thinking to use something to increase the friction like nail polish. I used to do that trick to get missiles to stick on toys, but not sure how it could work on a joint that needs to move.
Agreed. |

Finally got Snake Eyes today and he is awesome. Y'all already knew that, but I was still surprised, especially with how much every better single one of his joints was compared to Duke and Scarlett. I always feel like I'm going to break Duke's feet, and Scarlett's butterfly shoulder joints are 95% useless, but Snake Eyes is totally on point.
Except for that waist joint! He's really loose. I even got a coveted "knife fits in the sheath" SE but that waist joint is super loose. I'll be adding a small bit of craft foam myself to try alleviating that.

I really want to like the rifle that comes with the Cobra Trooper, but I think it's just a little too long to be an ideal main weapon. The submachine gun thingy is more easily held, but looks a lot less like a credible weapon.

Ok, so I popped the leg off of my trooper and shaved a little off the lower part of the leg(tiny amount on the bottom groove) so that the hip joint barbell thing can have more room to travel. It definitely moves up and down further now and stands more level
Edit: Did my other one and that was definitely the problem for me. Just too much material on the leg not allowing full range of motion for the barbell. Comes off super easy with about 10 seconds of hair dryer I actually love their guns. It's just that they ruined it with the stupid giant pegs. What were they thinking with that... Managed to find a box of Classified figures sitting on a pallet that a Target employee was putting out. Kindly asked her if I could buy them, and she said “sure!” She scanned and opened the box for me right there...and it was the Wave 1 figures. Which, either way, was a total W for me as I was STILL WAITING FOR MY PREORDER FROM BBTS. Weird thing was that it was the only box they had to put out. Felt kinda bad that I wiped out their inventory in one swoop, but damn if it wasn’t me it would’ve been someone else. Scored all of the Wave 1 figures plus an extra Snake Eyes. I’m happy.
Side Note: In my euphoria of finding Joes I forgot to buy the Earthrise Sky Lynx I saw. Went back later to buy it, and it was goooone. Oh well. Still got 2 Snake Eyes lol.

Here's some photos of my WIP Duke paint work. It's SUPER subtle, because overall I like the way these figures look. The picture of just the legs shows the default (left) leg vs. the worked on (right) leg. You can see even some subtle work brings out the detail.
I did a wash and some painting on the shirt, some paint on his hair, some coloring on his face, added detail to the knee pads/shin armor and his pants. Even though it's super subtle, I think it looks better! Oh, and I got rid of his silly orange watch. In the progress of painting all his belts/etc brown and making those feel like they aren't just green plastic :P Last edited by matthewrex; 08-04-2020 at 01:11 AM.. |

Damn you Amazon, Just had my Storm Shadow order cancelled. I should have stuck with the one I had on the American Amazon site instead of using the UK one.
