The 25th line didn't die because of "classic designs". The figures at the end of the line were radically different from the original 10. Are we just pretending that Renegades or The Rise of Cobra didn't exist. The line died because the market shifted to a different scale.
We are in the boom of 6 inch scale figures and Joe has never had CLASSIC figures in that scale. Here was their chance to enter that NOSTALGIA driven market, and by most accounts, they dropped the ball, regardless of the excuses that some will make for their questionable choices. |

I keep thinking, no one I knew as a kid with GI Joes batted an eye when they released lime green/gray pants Roadblock, and complained that it was so radically different from the camo, semi-realistic original, but if that happened today, a lot of you guys (demonstrably) would go bananas. The differences between Roadblock V2 and the 6 Inch version are negligible compared to those between V1 and V2. And no one hates on V2 Roadblock. Make a couple of tweaks, though, and man...

But they do, don't they? The six inch RB and Duke are Duke V1 and RB V2 with a few bells and whistles. I get it if you don't like the new details, or colors, but they're basically classic designs updated to look modern. Kids aren't into Vietnam or Cold War designs. What Hasbro gave us is a pretty decent amalgam. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

Oh, I see what you meant. The tweaks I was referring to were the ones that WERE made to the original designs, not tweaks to revert them to original designs.
