So many pages to catch up on. Ok, here's another response for you...

Zap’s trolling ya mate. He’s also been begging for the 6” to be anime styled ninja force characters. You see, he hates 6” with a passion and has done huge misinformed rants about them before, railing against how they have dust on them in stores so they must not sell (even tho they arrive fresh from the case like that)
For the record, I haven't said anything about 1:12 scale in this thread that others haven't been saying for years about 1:18 scale. Shoe, meet other foot. At least I was joking. As for your ill-founded dust argument...holy cow. This is the second time you've mischaracterized my post about that (here is the first time around). We were discussing anecdotal evidence. Irrelevant? Absolutely. But when it came up we were merely comparing experiences from one region to the next. You know, a conversation. Like people sometimes do. The posts were short and dispassionate (post #1 | post #2 | post #3 ... that's literally it, the entire exchange you and I had regarding 6" figures). Not anything approaching a rant. You started off by basically telling me that I did not see figures go to clearance that I did see go to clearance. That was pretty silly, but whatever. I mentioned also observing dust collecting on undisturbed pegs of figures. You told me that the dust I watched develop over time was actually there from the factory. You assumed you knew more about what I saw than I did, which is kind of silly when you didn't even ask any questions about it. All I said was "dust" and you had an immediate, air-tight response for that. At that point it became clear there was nothing I could say that you would accept, so I dropped it and stopped even trying to talk to you about it. I didn't post in that thread for nearly a week after that. Your responses were that ridiculous. You have no clue what you're talking about when it comes to clearance and pegwarming at my neighborhood retailers. Saying otherwise is an inane and untenable position to take. But I let it pass. You still seem to think you proved a point there though, which is just weird. Tell me my experience is atypical, fine, that was the point of the discussion...to compare notes. But to tell me I'm lying or having hallucinations or however you think I'm coming up with my experience? Really? What further conversation is there to be had with someone who does that?

No one (except us) is calling for G.I. Joe toys. Hasbro have a long road ahead of them to build the brand back up into anything meaningful - they're not going to produce a 6" line and do Marvel numbers. Not a chance. And will this line create enough of a buzz to get people buying wave 2, 3, and beyond? The RoC figures did ok, as far as I know, but a couple of years later and where is G.I Joe? Nowhere. Again. During all this, if they alienate (or don't get the support of) too many of the old, "dying" fans then they're left with nothing. Based on the posts here, the idea of a 6" line isn't putting off everyone, just some of us, so that's good. Personally, I'd have gone for slowly building G.I. Joe back up and starting with nostalgia-based and "hardcore" collector-focussed toys. But I don't run a $billion toy company. Edit: Haslab USS Flagg (since that Star Wars thing did well). Couldn't work it into what I was trying to say, so I'm just slapping it down here. Last edited by Eight; 01-15-2020 at 04:04 AM.. Reason: I spelled Flagg wrong... meh... they don't kick you out of Cobra for that. |

I tried to avoid the 6" crowd since its gonna screw up my collection (and my budget) but if this is the future of the line then so be it. Just wondering...if they say that this is GI JOE classified would they base the figures on ARAH aesthetics or will they go for what the kids today know of them..the RoC line (either the sumbow duke or channing tatum duke or sunbow roadblock / dwayne rockblock)?

Please take the Bobby drama out of this thread. It is clogging the thread up and returning old timers have no idea what is what.
Many thanks! |

My top ten wishlist for the 6” line (not counting the ones we know we’re getting)
Joes -Hawk v2 -Lt Falcon -Rock n Roll v2 -Storm Shadow v2 -Flint -Stalker -Lady Jaye (ARAH or Retaliation, not a fan of her Sunbow look) -Shockwave v1 or Night Force -Beachhead -Jinx Cobra -Cobra Commander -Zartan (with proper weapons like his bow and sword) -Destro (Iron Grenadiers, since the one we’re getting is probably v1) -Firefly (both Camo and Ninja) -Baroness -Viper -Officer/Trooper -HEAT Viper -Night Viper -Alley Viper |
