Even though my Duke is okay, I decided to give him a hot bath to see if the design gives any potential for issues there at the hips.
And yup, there we are: As you can see, the hip joints are cut off the runner right at the base. The fit there is so tight that any extra plastic could easily stop the joint from being able to swing up the whole way. I recommend popping off his legs to see if the joint can swing up all the way without a leg attached. You can scrape off any excess plastic if it's there, and if it's not then maybe you'll spot what other issue it could be. Quote:
The one trooper I have opened has this same issue. The legs appear to not line up.
It seems I run into this issue on every figure in every line (particularly Transformers): the legs seem different lengths. I usually just assume it's something I've done wrong and just work with it until they stand. Yeah, that's exactly what's going on with my troopers. It looks like one side won't move properly up and down its full range Last edited by iostream71; 08-03-2020 at 12:22 PM.. |

Just started doing my first round of customizing on these puppies. I'm starting with Duke. I forgot to take before pictures (like usual), but will post some stuff when I'm further along or complete.
I've already done some weathering. Using my Tamiya weathering master kits. My goal is to give these guys some depth and subtle visual tweaks. The flat colors are a great base, but could benefit a lot from some paint and subtle shading/highlights. Duke's shirt, pants, hair and face already look better to me with some simple work. |

I'm still curious why Pulse had a 5 per customer limit on these and a 2 per customer limit on most everything else (including Stormtroopers)

If I were to guess, in light of so many events being cancelled and these not being able to be shifted over to retailers, they were hedging their bets so as to not risk sitting on unsold stock?

Oh my, it can't ever be simple, can it? My Snake Eyes from Amazon is/was supposed to arrive today, saying "Out for Delivery"... but it's listing the wrong city. Will it arrive today? Tomorrow? Ever? A mystery, yay! Meanwhile the tracking for my Gamestop Destro has been saying "USPS Currently Awaiting Package" for 5 days now so it looks like they boxed it up and... have just sat on it?
As Duke and Scarlett just chill in my room, purchased and shipped without any issue. You know, my two least-wanted wave 1 figures (besides Roadblock, which I'll get with the Kimbo Slice head)

Snake Eyes looks cleaner, more streamlined, and just plain better without the grenade bandolier. But that's such an important part of the vintage v2 look.
It is sacrilege to just leave it off? Same with the annoying arm bands. EDIT.....I think I see the problem. I was pegging the backpack THROUGH the hole on the bandolier, which resulted in the bandolier hanging at weird angles off the figure. But simply plugging the backpack directly into the hole, but resting the bandolier under it, the whole thing fits more snug and looks much, much better. I think I'll keep it on after all. Apologies if this has been discussed already. Last edited by Otomo; 08-03-2020 at 07:19 PM.. |

I took Scarlett's knife/quiver thing off because it didn't look good to me. I like her a bit better without it.

Well, I finally caved, and joined the 6 inch club. Sigh. Damn peer pressure.
