So expecting a super-enthusiastic, pumped up crowd is...not really what Toy Fair is. Very strange and awkward. Would have been better off with just a straightforward "here's the stuff" pitch. Marvel stole the show by a helluva wide margin, but it probably helps that they got almost an hour to themselves. Utterly stupid not to show at least the last figure in Wave 1 (Destro). I seriously have to wonder what they're waiting for on those reveals? Just wanting to parcel them out on Hasbro Pulse or something? |

It was very cool to have a livestream. Is this happening for any other brands this weekend? Last edited by Mega Convoy; 02-22-2020 at 04:47 PM.. |

Oh yeah, you're right. Forgot about Gung Ho. Maybe SE is the oddball of the group and exclusive? Would be an odd decision, but par for the course with this line

The tenor of the entire presentation was just weird. The presenters were acting more like it was a fan convention than an industry convention. Most of the people in the audience aren't necessarily fans at Toy Fair. They're folks in the Toy Industry, and press that may or may not be purely toy-oriented press.

Par for the course in presentations like this. Have you ever seen an E3 presentation from Sony, or Microsoft. Dear lord, its cringey. They do the same thing. I think its why Nintendo just does directs during a show like this. The on stage stuff is to get industry reps interested in buying pallets of toys, but its never ever a fan response. Its a dollar response.
If Hasbro wants to be an entertainment company that appeals to a broad age bracket, try a little more like Nintendo. Show the stuff on the floor. Go through your display in smaller case on Pulse ( I mean they have it for reason). and DO a fan insider bit. silhouettes are better than nothing. Are their file cards? Sounds like the boxes have Transformers like tech specs and not a dossier. Also sadly, rail gun confirmed.. |

I missed the first 5-10 minutes. Anything interesting before Nerf and Power Rangers?

Cool thanks. The wedding 2-pack video was pretty funny.

And yeah, going off the package Wave 2 should be Gung-Ho, Baroness, Cobra Commander, Alley Viper, and Red Ninja. Also: I would not be surprised if they sneak Destro into the display case tomorrow. Hasbro likes to do little sneak-peeks like that. |
