I think Hasbro found the middle ground between a decades year old design and something that collectors would completely reject like a Sigma 6 deco. You can clearly recognize who these figs are even though they have a modern look. I also kind of like that they can carry all of their accessories. It feels like a 6” version of ARAH. |

I disagree with everything you said here about as strongly as I've ever disagreed with anything I've ever read. '80s nostalgia is as hot as ever. Mattel did the MOTU Classics line which was incredibly popular. They were faithful but larger and more detailed remakes of classic '80s figures. NECA and Funko are busy making faithful, but more detailed remakes of Ninja Turtles, Thundercats and other lines. THAT is what the customer base wants.
People under 40 don't care about Joe or some of these lines AT ALL. But there is nothing dated about the designs of the classic '80s Joes. There is no reason a classic look could not appeal to new collectors at the same time it appeals to the long-time collectors if Hasbro decides to market it. I can definitely admit that the Duke looks much closer to what I wanted to see in this line than the Scarlett or RB. Not a fan of the Rise of Cobra-conceived scar though. |

Has anyone seen any of the colored box artwork? I saw a picture from Facebook and it had the same drawing of Gung Go that's on the Snakeeyes box art,but in color anyway his vest was blue close in shade to the original maybe a shade darker and his cover appears to be a dark of green.

Whenever people assert that there are indeed enough adult fans left to maintain a line, I always wonder what explanation they have for GIJoe being shelved in the first place.

I know their excuse: “they didn’t use 100% accurate Sunbow designs! It’s the movie’s fault!”

They moved away from the ARAH styled packaging and figures once the first movie came out.
