GI Joe was Marvel’s top selling comic in the 80s. That still doesn’t mean a lot of people read it tho, but I’d say it’s more than just 10% of people who know about Joe.

Because the US population 1980s was 226,545,805. So 10% would be 22,654,000. But if you're referring to the US population now*which is roughly 327,160,000, then 10% would be 32,716,000. That's alot of people. |

G.I. Joe sold on average 331,500 copies per month in the early to mid '80s.
That's not an insignificant number. In 1985, it was the highest selling Marvel book, period. But why argue with people who only want to get something unrecognizably different every time? It's essentially G.I. Joe in name only. These are pretty much the same people that would or did enjoy the Last Jedi. There are certain things that make G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe. And if you omit those things, it's not really G.I. Joe anymore. If you have to ask what those things are, that pretty much speaks for itself. Last edited by lantern48; 11-14-2019 at 05:13 PM.. |

I’m sure that there are a lot of guys like me in their 40’s who grew up with ARAH and introduced their sons to G.I. Joe. While my son (21) has seen most of the ARAH cartoons, he has only read a handful of the original comics. He grew up with Spy Troops & Valor vs. Venom. For him, his vision of Snake Eyes is most likely summed up as the SE: Origins comics from several years ago. He was a big fan of that one as I was myself. I’m glad to see you “youngins” posting here by the way. I may only understand half of your lingo sometimes but good to have you hanging out with us old guys nonetheless.
