Red Laser did vipers and blue shirts. Someone else (Black Major?) did CGs. How about something else other than ground troops? Strato-vipers or AVACs need some love too! Just a wish list.

Oh definitely! They are all in the "etc..." Strato-Vipers, AVACs, Motor Vipers, Ice Vipers, WORMS, TOXO Vipers, Gyro Vipers, Sea Slugs...the list goes on.

Nice. I’d like to support it, but I don’t have any money right now.

I like o-ring kickstarter idea, lukewarm on this concept. I'm thinking about it.

Ehhhhh...
Sorry to say, but this will not fund as is. Only two color choices, and one basic mold? And are those all Joe/Hasbro parts? Not even a discount in price the more you pledge for? You need someone to edit your work, as it is chalk full of grammar/spelling/punctuation errors. Back to the drawing board, my friend.

I hate to say it... but Ozzie is right. You're not quite ready.
You can read this as a list of criticisms, if you want. But I'm actually trying to help a little. 1. Writing Kickstarter campaign pages is not easy. A blatant sales pitch will turn people off but it is, basically, a sales pitch. So it needs to be done carefully. Even if English is not your first language, it needs to be well-written for people to trust you with their money. 2. People will want to know where the $11,000 is going to be spent. Even if it's as simple as saying something like "manufacturing costs are $9,000; printing is $1000; and I need $1000 for contingencies/envelopes/shipping/plastic bags". 3. More pictures and graphics etc. You don't even show the back of the prototype figure - I wouldn't buy off ebay without seeing the back, let alone KS. 4. Personally, I hate campaigns where the creator can't (or won't) identify risks and challenges properly. If you can't tell me a single thing that could go wrong then I'm going to assume that you just aren't aware of one. And that's scary. It tells me that you don't know what you're doing. 5. If you're going to include a file card as your only exclusive, then it needs to be better. You need artwork and nicely written text that is consistent with G.I. Joe file cards. But a file card for a no-name trooper isn't super appealing, to me, anyway 6. Your reward tiers are terrible. IMHO The only tiers that anyone is likely to consider are the 17E and 34E ones - and limited to 300, it's obvious that the project won't reach the $11,000 minimum. That's going to put people off. It reads like you're using Kickstarter money to produce some figures to sell afterwards. That's fine. But your backers take all the risk, and anyone who wants a figure later has no risk. Expect backers to realise this and find a way to make them want to take that risk with you. The figures look good, no doubt about that. I want this to work. I love that you're trying to do something that is much more classic Joe than I see everywhere else. |
