I have been wanting to see the Warrior series, but I don't have Cinemax. Having a martial artist in the role is a good thing, which begs the question as what they will do with Henry Golding as Snake Eyes. Will a stunt man do the fight scenes or will they train Golding for an extensive period? I love the original Karate Kid movie, but Ralph Maccio's karate skills were weak.
Like ZBS i have trained for years in various martial arts {though not Kung Fu}, as well as tactical firearms, so I really appreciate accurate depictions of fighting and shooting skills, even though you have to expect some movie embellishments. |

Tae Kwon Do. I studied under the Late Grandmaster Duk Sung Son and Master Young Sik Choi.

totally on board with this (I've only seen him in Warrior ) and he does a great job so he will be good in this . but as for Goulding that casting choice is just not right , it just reminds me of them saying the next Bond is gonna be a woman of colour (is that the right way to say that? ) I have no problem with Bond being a person of colour I just don't think the gender swap is needed.

I had never seen Warrior until yesterday, I paid the $2.99 to watch the first episode to see him in an actual production.
He is a capable actor and even charismatic in a deadpan sort of way. If he is given a decent script (crossing fingers) He should do fine.

Guys, I can’t believe they cast an Asian actor for the part of Storm Shadow! He’s supposed to be white. Just like Snake-Eyes is supposed to be black. I don’t get it Hollywood. 😉

Now don't get me wrong, because with most established IPs, I'm a purist, and I may not have my facts straight here, but I always took 007 to be a job title more than a specific character. Of course I know why they'd do it, and I'm no fan if that, but at least it makes a bit of sense there. Though I must admit, I'm having a difficult time picturing the iconic introduction coming from a woman's mouth...
