Good news, Hama seems to be a fairly down-to-earth guy, and he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to GI Joe... But I hope things like this don't get my hopes up too much! I'm trying to go into this movie with low expectations and be "pleasantly surprised"!

As a Transformers fan I anticipated the first Michael ("Pearl Harbor" , "Armageddon") Bay movie with low expectations but on the heels of generally positive reviews went to see it and was pleasantly surprised. Same reviewers lambasted Bay's 2nd movie so I skipped it. Saving myself $10 and a migraine. I'm really hoping GIJoe comes in like that first Transformers film and pleasantly surprises us. Hama's take on it gets me pumped. The new Slurpee cups get me pumped. Some of the new vehicles and figures get me pumped. Yo, Joe!!!!!

I don't think anyone can question Hama's views and then sit there and say ROC isn't true to the 80s GI Joe. Hama basically created all the Joe characters and history (not animated, though). If it feels true to Joe to him, it probably is.
I just find it funny that someone could act like they're more involved with the property than Hama. How can you rip on him and yet embrace his creation? He created that which you love so much. Is Hama perfect? Nope. I actually don't like his DDP work. However, his IDW stuff has been pretty good so far. His Marvel Joe stuff was great until the early 100s. I lost interest soon after that, but Hasbro started making more demands on the stories, like Ninja Force. I think we all do owe him respect, though. Was he collecting a paycheck for ROC? Sure. Guess what? He was also being paid when he created all the characters you love so much. Guess he was "selling out" when he created those precious Marvel stories. He seems like a smart and honest guy, so I value his opinion the Joe universe. |

Can any of you imagine him saying it sucks no matter bad the film might be?
This is an opportunity for him to work with Hollywood. -The guy is an actor at heart. -It pays better than writing comics -I'm sure he'd love to see his book 'NAM made into a movie. Why in the world would he say anything other than -"This is G.I.Joe. You guys are going to love it."? Remember the Ninjas in G.I.Joe? I do... I remember them all being Ninjas. even FireFly is now a Ninja. TMNT sold pretty well around this time. Larry is a sellout. I thought so as a kid and I still believe this. of course I am no better and he just got paid. |

Well i think Hama is the man and i got much respect for him and his work his opinion is very valued to me and thats all i can say now do i think him saying this means its gonna be the best joe movie no of course not because there ar so many other powers that be involved and he dosent have full control of this Beast but at the end of the day him being a part of it and giving the thumbs up makes me happy and its better than not having him involved at all and not saying anything if ya ask me
