I would love the opportunity to return to Hasbro, and have pursued several job openings there over the last couple years (including this one). I think they are keenly aware of my interest in a reunion but I am not sure they’re aware of the support I built from the collecting communities of both G.I. Joe and Transformers. I always believed the collectors’ value was underappreciated, and that there were creative ways to invigorate a dedicated fan/collector base while still appealing to kids as well. I don’t know if this online petition will change anything, but if nothing else it has made me feel the respect and support of a community I’ve been a part of since 1982. Thank you all so very much.

Can you imagine having a true fan in charge again with a decent budget? If you can save GI Joe, then you have my full support.

Is it even possible for hasbo to make such a smart decision? I really loved the 50th line Mr. Weber and hope you can do some more awesome work like that. I still remember my dad bringing me to Toys R Us an finding to the 50th sets. I got the first two three packs that came out, and I still wish I would have gotten the artic sets. I had to get my dad to preorder the silent strike set for me since they did not carry it in the store. This set wa my only complaint about the is my only complaint about that lineup. The colors seemed to weird, but since I am a sucker for skystrikers (or Tomcats), I had to get it and the SDCC set, whic is still my favorite GIJoe vehicle set.

Oh yes! That CV Cobra Officer, and Stinger Driver were just fine with only an AK-57 and a single set of web gear. I can get my own knife or side arm. They’d be great candidates. Throw in a silver insignia 30th Cobra Trooper as a Viper Glider Pilot and I’ll grab ten of each- gladly! I used the lighter blue DG Cobra Soldiers as communications officers because their coloring matches the comms soldiers in the early Marvel issues. Also it explains the difference in color compared to the proper 30th/50th Soldiers. I’d also gladly rebuy any ARAH figure from that 30th/ or 50th line if rereleased on vintage card.
I found the DG Duke to be great for updating some og 13 Joes like Hawk, Short Fuse, and Grunt. If we had a rolled up sleeve release I’d happily do the same for Breaker, RnR, and Clutch.

I agree, the DG line should be an evergreen line, but some care should be taken to not make subpar niche figures (orange SS and Green SE, the Dukes were kinda meh as well, and W2 was significantly inferior to W1 which may have killed the line). Solid figures can be made indefinitely with existing 2010+ molds as long as the character/figure mix is strong. While they are at it, copy the 'Pops model on the Playskool buck for a sturdy, robust kids line.
So, looking at the old DG line, they had a "Leader," "Troop Builder," and "Ninja." Going off that pattern and thinking of what figures would appeal to both children and collectors that you could get by with a minimal 2 or 3 color paint scheme, I came up with this list: 1. Flint - use 50th (Danger at the Docks) body w/ web gear & rifle: Tan (upper)/Green (lower) and GREEN (upper)/Black (lower) [Offering this body in these color schemes opens the door for additional Duke & Dial-Tone customs, plus many others]. 2. Grunt - use POC Shocktrooper/Steel Brigade Delta body and Hit&Run head w/ helmet, web gear, and rifle: GREEN/grey and TAN/black [These two color schemes offer HUGE army builder potential]. 3. Jinx - Jinx body w/ masked face: RED/black and WHITE/Red w/ staff [Now before anyone argues that this is too similar to the SDCC exclusive, they could change the color up by making the neck and hands black or red. Plus there have been plenty of "exclusive" figures that are very similar to "retail" figures.] 4. Baroness - 50th figure w/ rifle: RED/silver and BLUE/silver [This figure would fly off the shelf!] 5. Cobra Trooper - same body as old DG Cobra w/ helmet, web gear & rifle: GREY/black and TAN/black [Again, awesome troop building potential here]. 6. Cobra Ninja - Retaliation Ninja figure w/ sash and sword: RED/black and BLACK/red Anyway, I've signed the petition, and after seeing Mr. Weber on these forums, it gives me hope that a true G.I. Joe fan, who listens to collectors, might have the opportunity to lead this franchise. Jason |

I actually composed a letter I was going to mail to Mr. Weber when he came on staff at Hasbro with my thoughts and suggestions for the brand, but I never took the opportunity to send it in before the line was canceled. One of my big suggestions was bring back the Dollar General line. I think a moderate paint scheme/accessories line at $5-6 really appeals to parents in light of the now standard $10-15 action figures at the big box stores.

Jason I don’t know if they can pull it off (why would it hard though) of just redecoing and changing heads and maybe skin color. For example grunt could become Stalker, Duke become Flint, etc. A roadblock that becomes ??? would be cool too.
