but the classic line ran til 1994. So the person they are looking for needs to incorporate all the years not just the select basic boring years of 82-87. Some of us like aliens, street fighter, ninjas, crazy cobra like frag vipers, heat vipers.
just b/c one fan demands it be 82 to 87 means Hasbro should do it or think everyone else will like the movie just b/c one fan replies with the same answer hoping it sticks. Last edited by edgecrusher; 02-11-2019 at 12:20 PM.. |

No thanks. Completely unrelated IP like Street Fighter and the whack-ass stuff like aliens and monsters that they added when they ran out of ideas after ~91/92 that jumped the shark should have no place in a reboot of ARAH. It's not real ARAH like the first 8-10 years of it was. Honestly, if we want to be true to form, any ARAH movie should focus only on the characters that were part of the two Marvel/Sunbow cartoon seasons and the '87 Movie. Everything after that is where it starts taking a turn for the crazy. Even though I love the figures up through ~91, I can admit that stuff doesn't belong in a reboot movie. It's too wide a net to cast, too great a scope to incorporate anyway, and there is such a wealth of storyline possibilities just within the first few years of characters, there's really no need to go beyond it for quite some time.
What about you, are you a fan of the GI Joes of 1982-1989?

All I know is, if the goal is to attract today's kids, cold war era anachronisms from the 80s and hokey shit from the 90s ain't gonna cut it.

Next time they make a movie it shouldn't be ARAH focused at all. It needs to be a new idea that will cater to kids. Time for us to let go and let Hasbro do something new that will bring in new fans.

I agree. We've had our time. Personally, I can't stand when people talk about 'realistic military' and 'ARAH' in the same sentence. GIJoe was never that. The best template to emulate is Marvel. Their characters have been around for decades - but the new movies play great to kids and adults both. |

watch them end up hiring someone from mattel. I would rather they hire someone from chap mei. And definitely not someone who says they love GIJOE and grew up playing with them. That hasn't turn out too well lately.

Well it can't be just for todays kids. It's for everyone of all age. So what about the col war era. What do you think today's kids are into. They should learn other thing that they never seen, they could learn the history of toys that were popular. I can ask those todays kids about what do they think about the GI Joe of the 80s and 90s. We can't let go the old school GI Joes. You can't forget the find of the decade. ARAH is for everyone of all age. I've seen kids play with old ARAH toys. They had made two live action Joe films that look modern. Seen enough modern on Joes anyway. Let's show them and see what they think. Are there todays kids here on this forum I can ask a question about GI Joe ARAH? You shouldn't talk that way about ARAH. I never talk that way about them. ARAH is the best toy line in the universe that they deserve to she shared to world wide. I would share a huge post of the 1985 USS Flagg and a 1987 Defiant Shuttle. Come one Joe fans. We're fans of GI Joe and Joe fans don't talk that way about what ARAH can't be or can be, what ARAH is for and is for not. Can't forget the Visionaries, Centurions, Transformers G1. Think about the designs like ones from Bumblebee movie.

I went back to school to earn my MBA - most brand managers have one and it's sort of the price of admission. I survived without one while I was at McFarlane Toys and Hasbro based on hard work, creative ideas and toy insights, but it's hard to get back in without one. |

They need to do a hybrid of o ring and modern design like with less accessories to wear. Not too many with removable vests and harness, no need for too many knives to put in figure, a molded knife or gun on a figure like they have for o ring figures back then.
