Personally, I'm kinda in between here.
On one hand, DDP has made a few stupid mistakes. Like killing Snake Eyes was a stupid move, even if he came back. It was just plain handled wrong. Yes, the last issue of the arc was awesome, and the subsequent waiting for him to pick up the sword again was a cool idea, but it just came off- Gimmicky. I'm sorry, but it was big mistake for small pay offs. I'm the Nathan in the letters column form that arc. I gave DDP a chance, was pleasently surprised at times, but BLECK.... The PLague was hit and miss. Blackout. Cool. Insicion. Pointless. Interrogator (spelling). Awesome. Munitia. Acceptible. Everyone else; instantly forgettable. Okay, maybe Guillotine is okay, but I digress. One thing DDP did get right was Cobra Commander as of late; a scheming, intelligent madman, and for that, APPLAUSE. But Wingfield, creating a cool sob like Wraith and killing him off, The Red Shadows, Damian, Hawk in a wheel chair, KILLING OFF A BUNCH OF PEOPLE IN THORAWAY STYLE! DDP does so many things right, but so, so, so many things wrong, imho. |

Im basing it on this
1.Hasbro has hired larry to produce one shot comics already that will be coming with the figures 2.Larry has just been brought on bored as "character" creative consultant for the live action movie 3.Larry just wrote a very compelling series for devil's due yet was not asked to write the main title 4.Mabee i am blowing smoke but it looks to me like this is the direction hasbro would go, with larry already involved with the movie it would be easy for him to write the comic adaptation of the movie and then i figure that will probably be the jumping on point for the new comic series. |

I just wished we'd find out for sure WHO is getting the license. Hopefully we'll get conformation sometime this week with Toyfare.

Glad that they are going to wrap up WWIII. This has been a strong ending to the series. DDP's run hasn't been perfect, but I give them a lot of credit for bring us Joe comics.
I would love LH getting this title with free reign. On that, we can only hope and speculate, but I think that the chances of this happening are at least 60%. I guess it depends on where the liscense goes. I've been a Joe fan since the early 80's and have read just about every Joe book out there. There have been good, bad and horrible. We know there WILL be a Joe book somewhere (especially with the movie coming out), but we'll have to wait and see. And yes, the possibility of Marvel getting this does scare me a bit. If they will do what they're doing to Spider Man, what will they do to G.I.Joe..... |

I wouldn't want Hama back, if he's going to write as he did with the wave 3 comic packs.
