THis is the worst news I have heard since - I found out Gargoyles Season 2 Part 2 DVD wasnt being made..
DD has been great for the run (personally I think most of IDWs stuff really is hit our miss- the art is usually so so and so are the stories-- and the inflated price tag is definitely not to grand either), I like how people are saying that they should lose it because of the pointless deaths-- personally I think thats what made their run great-- once LJ or Mainframe died-- you never knew if maybe your favorite character is next-not everyone gets to go out a hero or for the best reason possible -- I think that these comics were a lot more realistic and believeable-- marvel stories were great but you still had the one shot one kill concept normally in the battles that made it a little over the top..I mean Bazooka got fat-- it happens-- some guys went bald--not every Joe can still take on 20 guys buy himself and win... I really hope Hasbrio doesnt do this.. |

Whoever gets it, the first page should be Lady Jaye coming out of the Shower (like Bobby Ewing) and the whole DDP run being a bad dream...even though most of us had to live it...
Maybe Hawk can get out of the wheel chair, the Serpentor Clones can all be rounded up, Wraith can disappear, Recondo can get back to scouting the Jungles and Duke's liason with the CIA and "Black Ops" can all be a bad memory. I'm not sure why the new company shouldn't be allowed a re-boot. It seemed DDP rebooted everytime they wrote themselves into a corner, every 10 months. |

If they Reboot DD to bring back the charaters they killed off, then they should reboot Marvel too and bring back the characters they killed off. I like DD and was glad they continued what Marvel started and the way they out their own spin on things. Had they not, people would be saying DD "is just copying Marvel". Like'em or not, DD was a big part of the rebirth of GI Joe and I thank them alot.

I couldn't agree more. I read/collected the Marvel series (and still am) as a kid and remember those stories. DDP has done a MUCH better job of updating, and it needs to STAY with DDP. Don't believe me? Read the last 10 issues or so of the Marvel series and then read the first two story arcs of AE. :( NO COMPARISON! Eric :( |

and look at the treatment they've given their new licensed titles: Peter David and Jae Lee on Dark Tower and Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev on Halo.

Just got home from work and saw this, I figured this would happen.
No more Devil's Due, that's a shame. I really like what they've done with the license. I've been reading GI Joe since issue 19 way back in '83' and when image relaunched it back in '2000 whatever' I was thrilled and have been following it ever since. With America's Elite DDP has done a great job of modernizing the look of the characters without making them look over the top. The stories are solid too, for the first time in a very long time Cobra looks like a real threat. I don't know, it almost feels like Hasbro's saying thanks for keeping the GI Joe name out there but, now that our toys are flying off the shelves again we don't need you anymore. I'm not hating on Hasbro, whoever they go with I'm sure will do wonders with the license, it's just kinda sad to see DDP go. |

I have been reading the TF series from IDW and I think based on the fact that the company's basically dreamwave, I like what "Dreamwave" did with TF and would like to see "Dreamwave's" take on Joe ;)

Devil's Due had some good. some bad.
Either way if the license changes hands that's ok, I'd like to see some new blood take on the title. And if DD keeps it, that's fine too, they did some real nice design work at times. |
