funny thing was when snake eyes and storm shadow stormed the MARS to save scarlett, snake eyes' fighting skills was like uber coolness to the maximum level. then in WWIII he kinda suck not showing some of his ninja moves to kill the plague. if he only used those talents of his it'll be like easy win for the joes. :|

Cheers nacho I'll have a look around for them |

Again, i have to back up nacho on this. Beats the heck out of the last fifty or so of the MArvel run. And if you like Power's work on Joe, you'll probably dig it on Drafted too;also published by DDP.

He was at his worst in those 130-144 issues. But even Firefly sucked during that part of the era. Speaking of era, has anyone seen the final covers of the Classic continuity? I wish Golden had drawn Trimpe's cover, but once again, I applaud Devil's Due for getting these two veteran's of this continuity to tie it up. Unless of course, Hasbro decides to continue the continuity. I see it as a shame if they decide otherwise.

Personally, I Feel The Devil's Due Story Was Very Original And They Tried To Keep Things Realistic Within The Confines Of The G.i.joe Fantasy. Since They Lost The Franchise, It Most Likely Has To Do With The Creative Powers At Devil's Does Not Mesh Well With Hasbro's 'family Friendly' Vision.
However, I Will Proctor An Alternate Theory. Since It Is A 'franchise.' It May Be That Devils' Due Isn't Willing To Pay Whatever The Franchise Fee Is And I Promise You It Is A Hefty Fee! Since This Movie Is Coming Out, I Am Certain Hasblo (not Another Repaint) Wants A Heapping Ton Of Money For The Comic Franchise And It Probably Was Not A Reasonable Price For Devils To Afford. I Think It Is The Most Logical Standpoint And Most Of These Deals Come With A Confidentiality Agreement Between The Companies So We Will Probably Never Know! Rest Assured, The Creative Powers Are Excellent. I Just Think Hasbro Wants Far Too Much For Dd To Continue On With The Series. I Really Don't Think It Has Too Much To Do With The Creative Vision That Devils Has Because They Have Done So Much To The Joe Universe And I Am Sure They Had It All Ironed Out In Contract That They Had Creative Freedom. I Bet You A Buffalo Nickel Whatever Series Comes Out Next Will Be A Politically Correct And Sanatized Family Friendly Comic And Movie That Will Be Nothing But Eye Candy Like The Neo Colored Eco Warriors And Ninja Force Like Yesteryear. The New Comic Will Be In Line With Whatever The Movie Has For The Vision Concept And Perhaps Devils Due Wanted Nothing To Do With It. Be Happy We Got To Enjoy A Realistic G.i.joe Despite If Some Characters Died Occationally. I Was Mad Glenda Died But So What! It's A Comic And You Want A Good Comic, You Need Change. I Think It Is Cool How Devils Inegrated Ideas From The British Actionforce/red Shadows, Cobra Coil From The Cartoon, And Other International Entities Into The Story. You Never Got That From Marvel. I'd Rather Them Die And Not Come Back Unlike Marvel That Reincarnates Characters All The Time. I Hate Circle Jerk Comics Like That. I Am Happy With What Devils Did. Devils Due Made An Excellent Comic. That's Why They Were Lauded And Awarded Numerous Times For This Story. They Were Able To Take The Story Elements From The Old Comics And Infuse That With The Characterizations From The Cartoons And Came Up With A Realistic Series. I Am Frankly Jeolous Of Not Being Able To Come Up With Something Equally Rich And Satisfying! If They Do Make A New Comic, Maybe Dick Cheney Will Be The New Chief Of Gijoe. Blackwater And Haliburton Will Be The Major Stock Holders In Cobra, And George Bush Will Secretly Be Snake Eyes! Be Sure, It Won't Be Good If It Is Anything Less Than What Devil's Due Has Accomplished! Great Going Devil's Due, You Earned A Rest And Have Accomplished So Much With A Bunch Of Characters Originally Were Not So Well Fleshed Out. You Have Made It Very Enjoyable To Read. Thank You! |
