I see what you guys mean though.
If the club has been doing this price gouging for so long, there's no reason to believe what they say. Especially with their heavy use of the ban hammer. |

What is clearly a cash grab is their prices on older products such as the Club Footloose. However, no one here knows their margins without access to their financial statements. So with respect to their final products it's possible their prices are within range of arms-length bargaining. It could be they have made less units so that would also cause prices to increase.

i really would LOVE to know their "quantities" per figure. Is it 500? 1000? any real, educated guesses out there?

I am not defending their prices, but, a big but, they are a business and even if the figure costs 6 bucks to make, there's still a ton of other things that brings up the prices.
Shipping. Licensing. Profit (yes companies make profit) Taxes. Paying thier staff. (no one works for free) The only other excuse so far offered is an increase in the cost to ship the product over from China. So unless freight costs have gone up by tens of dollars per figure, they are going to have a very hard time explaining this pricing jump without admitting to increasing the "profit" figure pretty significantly. Not that they don't have the right or incentive to do so...they absolutely do. But it's dishonest of them to point to moderate input cost increases to a relatively small input cost item as the main driver of the price increase. It just isn't true. I don't see anyone saying the figures should be $10 each, just that they're pretty obviously gouging on their way out and they're lying about it.

I have a picture of the FSS 7 shipping carton in my albums that shows the FSS 7 production run at 1700 of each figure.

I'm not disagreeing on all of the above, but those were all priced in already for past production. The excuse of a 34% increase to the cost of the female 3-pack (which is probably the largest increase they have available to point to since it's the only one they mention) would mean a 34% increase to that one single input cost (figure production), not to their licensing fees, their staffing costs (which, assuming they ordered a smaller run as they claim to have done, they should be cutting back on staff at this point), or to their taxes. None of those have increased commensurate with the factory jiggering with the per-unit price of the figures. Overall, we're talking about at best 34% of a relatively small dollar amount in their cost matrix.

In a gated community, lol.
Btw, speaking of prices, I'm watching people go completely insane on their bids for modern era Joe auctions ending today. Pretty crazy but it helps explain why the Club can charge so much and still move product. |

So if someone knows their exact numbers on the other FSS runs, we would have a good idea on the quantity available for us to buy. |

Wow those Final Twelve prices are high. I passed on the FSS for the same reason. I miss when G.I. Joe was at retail especially in the RAH era. I know that some lines are targeted more for adult collectors now. I feel bad though for younger fans who have to save their allowance. I feel like even comic books are expensive at around $5 an issue. I know many of the figures are quite fantastic with their articulation or paint applications. The 25th anniversary style G.I. Joes are great! The latest Marvel Legends X-Men have been awesome too! But I feel like they are priced out of most younger fans' reaches.
