Hello Club Members! There has been several questions that have come in and we want to address them: 1. When does the order period end? There is no end to the order period. When we run out, that's the end. These products are supposed to ship from China in about 2 weeks and that puts them here around the first of the year. We will start shipping to you as soon as they arrive. When the figures arrive, if there is any quality left that has not been pre-ordered, they will move to an in stock status in the club store. 2. If my membership ends December 31, 2018, will there be anyone at the club to handle my orders? The CLUB memberships all end December 31, 2018. This means your last magazine will be December 2018. We have an additional 12 months to sell and ship our remaining products to you. This will be the same process as when the Transformers Collectors' Club ended. We will announce next year what the final closing date will be for Fun Publications. 3. Why are the figures more expensive compared to past exclusives? We understand your concerns. As all of this winds down to the end of G.I. Joe, factories are less willing to make these low production run projects, so pricing has increased drastically and we totally understand fan reactions to the prices. The carded figure pricing is the same as the last convention carded figure exclusives. We were already starting to see some of the increases then. Small production runs are expensive to make if you can even get the factory to make them. They would like the minimum orders to be 5x-10x what we typically order. The only way we have been able to make these figures at all is because of Hasbro's relationship with the factories. We don't know the future Hasbro has in store for G.I. Joe, but if you look at the current toy market, it seems unlikely you will ever see this product again in this format. Unfortunately, it's kind of the "end of the line". To give you a pricing comparison: on the Female Troopers from 2016 to the 2018 versions, our manufacturing costs (not including increases in shipping costs) went up 34%! We pushed back on the factory but they would not budge, particularly because we made 1/3rd less than the first set of Female Troopers. The less you run, the more each figure costs. On the Final 12, we picked a number that was in the middle of all of the prior subscription quantities since we could not do the final figures in the FSS format, due to the impending end of the contact. We appreciate your support over all of these years and we hope your interest in G.I. Joe never fades away! Brian PS. After less than 24 hours, we are already 20% sold through these items. May I point out your honor that the club does not have to produce new tooling like Marauders etc. They sell there for 20-30 dollars and you cant sell your figures with molds that were already made for $50. And that statement of 20% sold would have been a lot higher if they had reasonably priced these. I want to see the papers with all their costs before I change my mind.

It's just a shame that this last hurah is going to leave a bad taste in the mouths of some collectors.

What a ripoff!
Initially wanted to get everything but with this price tag, I had to cherry picked what I wanted only and it still came out to just under $400. |

Although it's expensive, I would say to anyone who even thinks they might want any of these to buy them now (unless you only want SF Dodger...LOL!)
Prices are sure to only go up once people get these in hand. For me though, I am not interested in these so I am ok with passing unless like I said before, I can get Falcon cheap and also be able to get the AT guy's webgear for him. If those two came as a pair, I might have gotten it. However, if I never get these, I don't really care either. I anticipated this to happen by selling off my Marauder's Joes from the Joecon set. I only got it hoping that BBQ and Lowlight would be a con exclusive. When I saw they weren't, I knew I wasn't going to keep Mutt, Footloose and Spirit cause I knew I wouldn't want to bother getting the BBQ and Lowlight through the club in the Final 12. Again, if you are on the fence, I say get it. At the least, you will be able to get back what you paid for them if you sell them after.

I need to grab that Ninja Force Zartan and then we'll see. None of the other items are "must haves" regardless of what the completist in me thinks.

The best part of that update is that they have sold through 20%
It would be my guess that the majority of that 20% is people who were getting what they wanted no matter what and their mind was already made up (nothing negative about that by the way) E-Tailers probably also get in early. That initial surge probably represents a majority of interested parties and will likely slow up. Hopefully Brian ends up sitting on half his production run. It would serve him right. I doubt it though. It’s hard not to cave knowing this could be it for a while. His “let me speculate on retail future” comment is likely his attempt to drive interest. Doesn’t mean it isn’t true but still feels shady.

As panicked as he makes it sound, I just don't see Hasbro doing anything with GI Joe for a while... not like what the Club was doing.
Lame movie figures are probably the only thing on the horizon. As far as ARAH styled figures go, this very well might be it. Part of me is happy about that because I'm so very tired of this bullshit. I've been somewhat successful with my customs, I'll just continue to do that until I have a heart attack in my basement and my widow sells everything off to pay off the house.

I got zartan, the Sonics, and the night stalkers
Wanted all...but I wanted to spend about 400 on all this...sadly these prices nixed plan. I realized I passed on the TF and SM convention sets recently so no reason to get these from the Final 12 as those sub groups don't have much representation in my collection anyways. Although I do love the vibrant colors on the Tunnel Rat. He's the only one i'll genuinely feel bad about missing. |
