so, a)please don't anoint me a white knight as i think their customer service and product is terrible and b) don't hate me for flipping.
I think the cost of the final 12 is in direct response to all the flipping of the fss/joecon figures we have collectively done as a community over the years. Every year (except fss 3 as i thought the lineup was weak) i have bought multiple subs to expressly sell them off in order to pay for the one set i keep. Below you will see the results from fss 7 and my selling off of 3 subs. The cost is calculated as 4 subs so i can track when i have paid off the set i keep, which is why the math may seem a little wonky. My reasoning is that there are plenty of people, including on this site, who openly only want to cherry pick out some of the figures, meaning there is a chance for people to sell off a sub in pieces. It benefits everyone and it's not like the subs have had a limited run, their a build-to-order process, so i'm not like the guys at the joecon trampling people for a parachute figure. I think, however, that the costs of the final 12 are in direct relation to the secondary market as fp can easily look at sales data and realize their product is being sold on the secondary market for the below profits. So, if they raise their prices to match what the secondary market can sustain, then they can reap the profits instead of losing out on them to people like me and the other sellers. I had to look at the final 12 price long and hard, and in order to pay for me to be able to keep a set for free of the final 12, i would have to buy 4 subs and then sell three sets individually for no less than $75 for each figure on the secondary market. I don't think the market is there for this lineup as it pales in comparison to fss 8, which will do very, very well. The only thing that gives me pause on f12 is that fss7 had a production run of 1700 sets. I'm betting this has a production run of half that number, if not less, which skews the long term pricing into territory i cannot predict as they could end up like the sky patrol glider figures or some could perform like nf chuckles and freestyle. In the end though, i think we as a community only have ourselves to blame for their pricing being what it is. There are very few people who will read this who have not sold con or fss figures or rare figures for a profit, it's the nature of a free market economy. Btw, i have never sold off con figures that other people have picked up for me. Won't do it. Pardon me, I added line breaks, so I could read, and thought others might enjoy it. While I don't think it's our fault necessarily the prices are where they are at, I am not surprised. If the people running the Club won't have future interaction with the community, then there is no incentive for them to keep prices down. Hasbro is in financial difficulty, and obviously doesn't care what the prices are going to be at. If anything, the higher club prices, will make it easier for some of us to swallow higher priced figures when we do eventually see some at retail. "$20 for a new 1/18 Joe? Heck, that's in line with the indie toy lines, and way cheaper than what I was paying from the club back in 2018." One other note, you have prices for FSS 7.0 listed, not 6.0. |

This is exactly why I was so annoyed. I want Falcon and if they paired him up with the Viper, then I'd have a better shot at him.

Over the years, I have defended the club on many things, but I've ALWAYS hated how the club treats their forum and silences all criticisms. I just emailed this to the club. I don't expect a response, but that doesn't matter. I am hoping that each and everyone reading this takes the time to send the club an email like this. Flood their inbox.
To whom it may concern, With the recent pre-order drop of the Final 12, you guys have been taking a lot of heat on the prices. I’m not going to complain about that. What I will say is that I am highly disappointed in your excessive banning of people on the club forums for posting, in many cases, reasonable concerns and comments. Banning a-holes who are blatantly rude, sure, but this isn’t what you’re doing. You’re removing any and all criticisms like fascist dictators with total control over the media. You’re removing all negative comments like some petty child who hasn’t yet realized that sometimes, life isn’t always nice. The people you are banning, have paid for a membership. They have given you money in exchange for goods and services. Those services are, in part, the forums. Also, as paying members, they are entitled to opinions on the goods and services they are receiving. This type of banning would not be allowed in any other industry. If I go into a supermarket and complain to the manager that the prices are too high, being banned from the store would be an outrageous idea. If I complain about President Trump, should I have my right to vote taken away? Of course not. Yet, you’re taking away peoples’ access to something already paid for simply because you don’t like the criticism. Absolutely unacceptable and despicable. Will these people wrongfully banned be receiving a partial refund of their membership fees? As they aren’t receiving the full benefit of their membership, that seems fair and reasonable to me. This behavior on your part isn’t new. I myself was “reprimanded” and had posts deleted many years ago for simply asking for more communication on a product release. I was both fair and respectful in my posts, yet that didn’t matter. It was infuriating then, and it’s equally infuriating now. Over the years, you may have improved figure quality, con experiences, etc., but you have failed to learn the valuable lesson that, good or bad, paying members deserve the right to be heard. Our voices matter whether or not you’re mature enough to take the criticism. If I handled customer feedback at my job like you guys handle it, I would have been fired on day one. It doesn’t matter if you see our complaints as valid or not. Simply rejecting negative concerns, and the people who voice them, is outright disrespectful. Good day. |

With only a month and a half to go, i doubt they'll change their behavior, even if they did care about their customers.

Ugh. Just pulled the trigger on all 12, the Nightstalkers, and Zartan with his bike. Picked Priority Mail (the cheapest), bubble wrap on both bagged items...
INVOICE TOTAL: $724.25. Ouch. They're not doing anything like insurance for this wave, right?

Hasbro needs to give the GI Joe license to Super7, a company that cares about their customers and produces decent toys for a reasonable cost. I can get a 6" MOTU figure from them for under $50 shipped. Yet I can't get a 3.75" GI Joe figure for less than that.
Good riddance Fun Publications.

$48 for a repaint???
I was planning to get a few of the final 12, but after seeing how much they are asking - easy pass. Really glad none of the figures are desirable for me, but really shame on the club. |
