Love the idea of Bombstrike leading the team. There can never be too much Bombstrike.

I've said this before. I said it to Larry. I'll say it again; I am not buying Joe without Snake-Eyes. I have had aversions to Hama's ARAH since mid Blue Ninja arcs, and the Serpentor/PIT arc, with the end, topped it off. Fake Eyes and Dawn 'He's In My Head' is just insult to injury. I'd buy the mainline book, but we know how that repeatedly goes. I'm still out; I'll biy the fun 'otherverse' stuff like 6 Million or more Street Fighter, but it kills me what Joe comics have become.

ARAH is tops for me. No other titles in this industry have the staying power and consistency, I am always eager to get my hands on the new issue. The new team dynamic (especially with Scarlett and Stalker mentoring Dawn and Sean) is breathing new life into this team, over 30 years after they were appearing. That's amazing.

Tom, just curious: why go with a new #1 instead of simply bumping ARAH to bi-monthly during this run? It’s not the end of the world, and I WILL buy/read it. I just prefer continuity when it comes to Hama’s work, which may stop me from buying the TPB (unless it’s numbered like the others are (#22 or #23?)...

Also, SRP: $4.99 for the #1. Quite spendy. Will these be oversized to account for the extra backup story? (That mean three concurrent Hama approved storylines at any time, which is great). Or is it the new normal?
Edit- I can't seem to find the Joseph 256 cover, but this might be it: https://ronjoseph-artist.deviantart....-256-746283459 Last edited by Bubbavader; 06-22-2018 at 12:01 AM.. |

Still no Complete Collection Volume 9 hardback, eh? IDW is almost as bad as the Club.

This does seem odd but looks good. I was worried it was going to be a silent mini at first. No need for any silent issues ever again. Maybe
GIJoe has gotten an uptick in popularity. Not a fan of the either new Snake Eyes. I liked when Hama would focus on a different set of Joes for a few issues. But I am just happy their is a RAH comic. |

From the cover artist's Instagram posts a way back, these covers were apparently going to be ARAH covers, but sounds like storyline got turned into it's own mini series. Imagine these were going to be the post Special Missions or post 260+ issues of ARAH and instead it's being expanded on to be it's own little series.
I'm all for it, just means we are going to be getting double doses of Hama GI Joe for a while. If this is successful, wonder if they would continue it with an ongoing series of this side team? |
